<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> News Mark Bartelstein, agent to Celtics center Mark Blount, told the Boston Globe that his client would exercise the player option on his contract this week and become a free agent. "He's already notified that he intends to exercise the option," Bartelstein said. "We'll do it before the end of the week." Blount averaged 10.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 2003-04. "It's the right move for Mark Blount," executive director of basketball operations Danny Ainge noted. Views Blount will get a lot of calls from Eastern Conference squads, starting with the Miami Heat, who need help in the middle, and the Philadelphia 76ers, where former Celtics head coach Jim O'Brien now resides. Mark was very critical of the Celtics this season, but he appeared to like the Doc Rivers signing and could be wooed back to Boston. Depending on where he ends up, Blount could be a very serviceable fantasy center in 2004-05, especially in leagues that score for seven or more categories. </div> Link Anyone thinks we should try and sign him? I don't think we could draft a good enough PG with the #1 pick...maybe sign Blount , and trade Juwan Howard and Pick and other player for a really good PG..like Jason Williams..? or any other... Opinions?
Blount would fit in pretty well in Orlando. He brings a lot of what the team is missing and should improve in the future. Hope to see Magic sign him... As for point guards, Magic has to trade the power forwards and guards... Like Howard, Lue, and the bunch... Maybe Garritty, Lue and a pick(s) Darrell Armstrong. I'd love to see him back in Orlando...
DOn't get rid of Garrity he does a lot for the team. He opens the floor for Tracy with his deadly three point shot,
The pick and Juwan for Jason Williams? Are you crazy? That'd be dumb. I would love to get Blount, and draft Dwight. Our lineup would look like this then. PG-Hill/Tmac/Stevenson SG-Tmac/Stevenson SF-Dwight Howard PF-Drew Gooden C-Mark Blount That would definetely be playoff contender again.

But neither Hill, T-Mac, or Stevenson, in my opinion, are very reliable or consistent point guards. Having an experienced point guard starting, or coming of the bench would be a big bonus for the team. And at this point, I wouldn't try to build the team with Hill in a major role...
