I believe wholeheartedly that Stern has the NBA set up. Too many whack things go on that shouldnt. Particularly the lottery. Anyways. Could it be that the NBA is setting up a Piston victory to keep the Lakers together for "one more run" while Kobe and Carmelo build their respective teams up to carry the NBA post Lakers? I mean the players play the games but the refs control the fouls. Putting Kobe and Shaq in foul trouble changes the whole Laker team. I find it funny they both are getting into foul trouble this finals. Whatever the reason for the Piston success, keep it up. Phil cant get number 10!!
I think that is total BS. Stern is in no way rigging the NBA. If he did, he would likely get in deep *insert explative here*. There's no way he could do that. The refs call the game the way they see it. They're only human. Humans can't catch everything and they have to trust what they see. They call the game the way they see it. They're not trying to screw the Lakers over by taking Kobe and Shaq out of the game. The Pistons defense has done a good enough job of that without the help of the refs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">But in the other thread you said Lakers in 6.</div> I still think the Lakers are gonna find a way but my doubts grow with each game. I just dont ever rule them out. I did versus San Antonio and we saw what happened. I guess I need my anti Laker karma to keep ebbin and flowin. I am just throwing ideas out there to see if there are people who feel partially similar. I think some things are rigged, like the lottery but nothing seems to amaze me. This is the first time in memory that Kobe and Shaq both have been in FT a lot in a series though.
Although I'd have to agree with most of the calls going in favor of Detroit thus far, I'm not sure it's to rig the game. The Lakers are usually the team to go to the line more than any team they play, but in this series the Pistons have been going to the line a lot more than L.A. When this series started I was worried the refs would rig the calls FOR the Lakers and make it a short series, but they've done the opposite. Even for the Pistons they are blowing fouls like crazy though, and it's been a very long and frustrating series thus far. It seems like whenever the guy with the ball gets touched by another jersey it's a foul. Rediculous officiating IMO, and I can't stand watching all the whistles being blown.
its really hard for me to believe in sports conspiracies(sp?)....but....lately people have been bringing up some very interesting points that make me sway back and forth on each side....not saying that i agree with this conspiracy cuz i definetly do not as for the officiating...i don't think its been that bad...i thought it was way worse in the Western Conference Semi-Finals....that was absolutely horrid officiating...terrible...i thought anyways
It's not rigged... it's just that Shaq and Kobe are arguably the two biggest stars in the league, and the refs have this ridiculous method of 'superstar calls', which is just utter rubbish, I think we'll all agree. Whether or not that reflects on David Stern is up for debate... the fact that no one even questions that superstars get favourable decisions any more is disappointing, it's more of a joke to people.
