Ice- Now I have no idea what a sin is. It is not that hard to know what a sin is. Just look at the dictionary. Sin-Deliberate disobedience to the known will of God
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Spree:</div><div class="quote_post"> Follow god. Not your local priest.</div> How are we suppose to do that?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Spree:</div><div class="quote_post">Point being, priests are meant to preach on behalf of God, am i right? so how do u explain the ammounts of gay priests mollesting young boys.</div> So much priests are molesting young boys nowadays because of the rule in the Catholic church that priests can't marry. You can't jus get rid of the sexual drive. And that's a powerful drive. To jus say to a man, you basically hafta get rid of your feelings for the opposite sex, it's bound to lead into something like this. Basically all they see in the church is males so....it leads to homosexuality. + the altar boys are always around the priests and they're naive and trusting, or so the priests think, so they take advantage of them. Not saying it's right that they do this to young boys, but with that rule in the church, it's bound to lead into homosexuality. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I guess thats a sin too, right? Follow god. Not your local priest</div> I didn't say priest. I said preacher or pastor. I left out priest for a reason. Follow God, not your local priest? Aren't they supposed to preach the Word of God? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I won't bother arguing with u anymore seeings how your view is so one sided. not to mention so wrong. When you die and go to heaven/hell you will realise people are people. end of story i have nothing more to say to you.</div> My views are one sided because my views are the truth. Agree or disagree, whatever, but these are my views, those are your views.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ice:</div><div class="quote_post">That comment is coming from someone who probably goes/has gone to church. </div> I don't understand what you are trying to say by this? and no you are wrong.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Einitials:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't understand what you are trying to say by this? and no you are wrong.</div> I was simply asking what exactly a sin was after sactown tried explaining something. As you can tell, I don't attend church nor do I know a lot about religion. So the 'it's not that hard to know what a sin is' statement was a little off, because maybe it's hard for me. I'm not religious. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">My views are one sided because my views are the truth.</div> Well... Thats cool you think your views are correct, but let him think the same about his. I honestly don't think theres a right answer for any of this. If these people choose to lead a gay lifestyle, thats totally their problem. I personally find it nasty when I see two men making out, but thats just me. I'm not homophobic, I'd just rather not see it. Same would go for a gay NBA player. If they want to be gay, let them - and no one will stop them. However, in today's society, if they 'came out of the closet' these players would not be looked at the same. Parents would probably want their children to have a new favorite player, and teammates would probably make fun of them. Until our society changes, it's best if these players stayed in the closet.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post"> How did the survey turn out? Was it done randomly?</div> how'd it turn out? ironically, my results say that 5% of the nba is gay  ps. the bible says a lot of things. just because you do one thing, and the bible says another, doesnt mean your going to hell. the bible may say "a man shall not lay with his brother" but it also says not to "get drunk from my wine". i hardly think that getting hammerd once in a while, is an offense that will send you to hell. besides...there are litterally hundreds of interpretations of the bible. some priests will tell you that parts of the bible translate litterally ie: not to lay with your brother means incest. there are plenty of priests and ministers that will tell you that being gay isnt a sin, just as their are plenty that will say the opposite. thats the deal with religeon, its a never ending debate because there is no way to actually prove any of it. once again, it all boils down to opinion. seems the 10 commandments are a pretty decent way to live a riteous life...it mentions some pretty big offences, but doesnt say anything about homosexuals.
I'm like Ice, I don't attend church and the only times I've been there was for funerals. And though I'm use to being around gay ppl, I don't like watching them make out unless good looking girls. Just keeping it real, but why did they show 2 guys frenching on that Christina Ag video full on and then when 2 females kiss they blur it out? WTF! Oh and warning to the adults that might wanna purchase penthouse mag. It's all good until you get to the back, if you know what I mean. Oh and wasn't being a homosexual accepted back in the Roman days?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And though I'm use to being around gay ppl, I don't like watching them make out unless good looking girls.</div> Whoa, thats considered lesbian?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting sactown_dyme:</div><div class="quote_post">If there's nothing wrong with being homosexual, then why can't a lesbian couple have kids? Because it's not supposed to be that way. </div> Wait, what about straight people that can't have kids? They aren't supposed to be that way either? They were punished for some reason? And let me point out here that lesbian couples can have kids the same way a straight couple where the man is sterile can, via artificial insemination. I happen to work with someone in that same situation. She carried the baby, gave birth, the whole nine yards, just like any other woman. I'd think that if God didn't want anyone to have babies unless it was via intercourse, He would have made in-vitro insemination impossible.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 30 standing ver:</div><div class="quote_post"> Oh and wasn't being a homosexual accepted back in the Roman days?</div> The Greeks and Romans didn't just accept homosexuality, they extolled it. Before chrisitanity took over, they would worship bisexual/gay gods such as Zeus(Jupiter) and Apollo. During that period it was very common to have same-sex relationship.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 30 standing ver:</div><div class="quote_post">^Well yeah. But that be called gay too, can't it?</div> yeah

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Supersonic:</div><div class="quote_post">So if you knew someone was gay, but they didn't act in the stereotypical gay way, you would view them differently to a gay man who did?</div> Yes. If I knew someone who was gay, and didn't act in an annoying fashion, then I'd have no problems with them. Even if they weren't gay...if they acted like that I'd have a problem with it because it is just a pet peeve of mine.

For some reason a lot of the gay community wants everyone to know they are gay. With all the gay parades and feminine characteristics it does get annoying an exhausting after a while for some people and I can see why.
i read bits and pieces of everyones posts. I belive that homosexuality is like the racism of today, and many people are having trouble accepting it. If your playing basketball with a gay person, there not going to try and like touch you, or feel you, or play any different than a straight guy would. They probably wouldnt do much talking either so they wouldnt be acting over-feminine or anything. just my thoughts, is there anyone gay in this board, maybe they can comment.
^ From everybody who posted here, I don't think so, but with 4,600 members, somebody here has to be gay.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting cubanballer:</div><div class="quote_post">Wait, what about straight people that can't have kids? They aren't supposed to be that way either? Point is this and you can twist it anyway you want. God made man and a woman so that they can have kids and reproduce. It's even stated in the Bible, so I'd advise you to look into that for future reference. God didn't make it for gay or lesbian couples to have kids whatsoever. If you keep insisting this, you're making God look like a fool and you really don't wanna do that.
