Bottom line: We're all the same, we just have different interests. Whether it's sexual, religious, political or whatever. As long as we're not hurting other people none of the particulars of those differences matter. And really it's only the fundamentalist religious types who force the issue and hate on people because they're different. As for basketball, I could care less if none, or any or all the players were gay. However it is an unfortunate reality that the players, coaches, etc aren't all that accepting. Hopefully when my kids (or maybe their kids) are watching basketball, by that time it truly won't matter.

How is it different from christmas or easter parades or religious observations or the rotary club having a public event. OFF topic ...Kinda Ice, and others interested. i'm assuming you haven't really had much contact with chrurch or any christians. I used a bit of christian slang and forgot that some people might not know/understand what i mean. I'll try explain it here for you. - what is Sin? Sin is something that goes against God's will, for example; theft, self inflicted bodily harm (for instance suicide and self mutilation) homosexuality and soo many other sins. (a good guideline of what is/isn't sin are the 10 commandments) - The reason why you shouldn't take you sin to the grave: Jesus is the mediator between us and God (yes God, Jesus and the holy spirit are all one entity but there are three parts, God the Father, Jesus the son, and of course the Holy Spirit.) sin and God cannot exist together and hence the fact that sinners oould not go to heaven. But because he loves each of us and desires for us to be with him for eternity, he Sent his son Jesus to earth to defeat sin. The way he did this was to lead a sinless life and be crucified on the cross by doing that he was able to accept the sin of the entire world and and take the punishment we deserve. When he rose from the Dead sin was defeated. If you do not accept that Jesus died for you; then he will not mediate for you in the last hour when you are judged by God, he will see you as a sinner and turn you away from heaven. Another point to make is that, if you believe Jesus to be your savious and are grateful for the gift sent by God wouldn't you want to do your best to show him your appreciation? Just the same as if someone had bought you a car, would you not show them your gratitude? same kind of idea with God. - how does God view sins? Sins are all the same in God's eyes. telling a white lie, and committing murder might seem like a HUGE difference to you or me, but in actually fact God sees it as purely disobedience to him (sin). - Who is the holy spirit and what does he/it do: For those uninformed, the holy Spirt is part of the trinity sent to each believer and dwells inside of you. It has been given to help us in our daily lives, for the likes of resisting sin, evangelising (telling other people about God), and carrying out day to day things. To recieve the HolySpirit all you have to do is Confess to God he is Lord (via Pray), believe Jesus died for your sins, and ask for forgiveness. - Are all men equal? This is a tough one, but yes all men are created with equal responsibilities and equal opportunity to accept God/Jesus/Holy spirit. I'll find some more solid info on this if you all like. And no, I really thought he died. Sorry if I offended you but I'm dumber than dirt on this subject. Most of you guys have been pretty nice regarding this issue - and explaining it to me. Thanks. And I think it's best I stop asking questions that way I don't offend other members.

I don't think his intention was to be offensive. I haven't taken offense to anything he has said/asked and i don't understand why you have. obviously i am not you and i can't speak for you, so i won't. i think its good he has the guts to ask questions at the risk of sounding stupid or uninformed. and i commend him. other members are probably just reading on hoping he'd ask questions they are thinking but are worried about posting.
