Giving up Artest and Harrington is horrible for the Pacers. McGrady has to end his career as a Magic. It would make his career look better once he retires. I believe all the franchise players in history stayed with their team while never getting traded.
T-mac leaves he just leaves. He stays he just stays. Plain and simple. Orlando can find a person or two to replace him I'm sure
i hope he stays and guts it out there. they gave him what he wanted in that contract and for him to leave and not stay and help them after they gave him that much money is wrong. i know it is all business and he wants to win, but leaving should be his last option. i can understand if orlando wants to rebuild or if they don't want to spend money in FA or trade for better player then tmac leaving is understandable. i think he needs go into the meetings with orlando front office with the mindset that he will be in orlando if they do x,x,x. whether those x's become successful depends but he should go in thinking taht they can turn it around in orlando. the east doesnt have that much depth in quality teams (indy/jersey/det are the only serious big three) so with a few good pieces they could easily be the 4/5/6th seed (yea i know bucks and knicks and heat are improving too). so it isnt like orlando is years behind being a playoff team again or a horrible place to play. in the east, they can be right up there in one offseason because of the lack of domination.
I agree throwback. If he wants to restore himself as a top 5 caliber basketball player, then he has to gut it out and stick with Orlando. We actually have a bright future now that you think about it. We have the #1 pick and can get someone to help Tmac out, next summer we will have enough salary to max a FA out.
