Emo, props for being a real fan. being able to criticize your team when faults are obvious is just as important as strutting around when you win.

i completely agree on all 3 of your points.

Kobe should have averaged 10-15 assists per game with Shaq shooting the high FG% he had. it was painfully obvious that Kobe was trying to get his own offense going instead of the team's offense.

I agree. A lot of fans liking making excuses for a loss but Emo just tells it like it is.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Emo:</div><div class="quote_post">What more can I say? It was a disgusting, humilating loss knowing that I was so confident and very postively sure my LA Lakers would tie this series up and guarantee a home game back in Staples Center for Game 6. </div>
Best post I've read all day. Rather than blaming it on the refs, you actually admit the Lakers played terrible.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">As far as I'm concerned, I know the Lakers have one more game to send this series back to Los Angeles, but this series is over. I know I said this back in the conference semis against the Spurs, but this is a totally different scenario. The Detroit Pistons truly have shocked the world, they shocked me and the other Laker fans, and they shocked the people of Las Vegas that have betted before this series began that the Lakers would win this series. Hurts for me to say this, but I'll be looking forward to discussing the Laker offseason including the "rebuilding" of this team and perhaps Kobe's new basketball town wherever that may be. It's just a matter of hours when the Detroit Pistons will hoist that trophy.</div>
And the posting gets better...

Emo, I'm glad you're calling it how it is.

^ Not a problem. Sometimes in losses like this, you have to say the truth rather than go around the truth and try to twist things around. Like I already said, we lost the game due to my personal three points. Kobe's arrogance and jealousy towards Shaq, Kobe not caring at the news conference but he'd rather joke with the media and smile rather than showing a distinct frown on his face....that really displayed his cockiness. There is now hope for the Eastern Conference now, because not only did they play Detroit basketball, they were never afraid of the Los Angeles Lakers. They were never intimidated, and they always believed in their hearts that they could beat the Los Angeles Lakers. To me, that shows the true character of the entire team, and when you have heart and the will to step up to the odds when other people would tell you that you can't do it, that makes a true champion. Congrats to Larry Brown especially. Maybe now he can win that ring he's searched for his entire coaching career, and maybe we can finally see him show some life at the end of the news conference and actually smile for once. I agree with Emo and everyone here the Pistons deserve the credit, Lakers deserve to go home... but one thing that I don't really agree is the series being over.

Sure it seems impossible for the Lakers to win three straight against a team they are struggling in every quarter of every game... but if the Lakers manage to win Game 5 then the series will shift to Los Angeles. IF (a big one)the Lakers can do that, I firmly believe they can win Game 6, and force a Game 7. Now, I am not gonna go on and say they'll also take Game 7 to complete an unprecedented comeback. A game 7 is still possible, that's my point, and from there tied 3-3, who decides to show up in Game 7 is gonna win. The Pistons or the Lakers? I know the Pistons are gonna show up as they have been all series, the Lakers must show up. But they must do that in Game 5 first, then all of this can happen.

i must say i am rather surprised at Emo's reaction to the Lakers loss as well....always pegged him as the type to make excuses...but hey i was wrong....big ups

i really don't think, with the way the Lakers have been wishy washy in playing, that they deserve to win a championship over the Detroit Pistons who have been straight ballin all season (especially after Rasheed showed up)....LA got to the finals simply because of the way they played in the playoffs...good enough to win series...especially that San Antonio series....DETROIT DESERVES TO WIN THIS NBA CHAMPIONSHIP

    go pistons

Since SHEED is so volatile, the Lakers do have a chance. If Sheed gets suspended or something, because the Lakers have no one who can defend the 4.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SupraJames:</div><div class="quote_post">Being a defensive team does not make you a one-dimensional team. The Pistons have excellent transition defense, trap defense, SUPERB half court defense, and have shut down one of the best guards in the game today (Kobe). I don't think that's one-dimensional at all. A multi-dimensional team doesn't always have to be the powerhouse offensive team.

Their offense isn't exactly one dimensional anyways. In fact, the Lakers are the ones that looked one-dimensional. Their points have all come from one Shaquille O'neal dominating the paint while the Pistons killed the Lakers offensively in every possible way except from 3 point land. The pistons offense is nothing short of decent/average. Powerhouse? No. Superb? Maybe. Above average at the least. They shot their mid-range jumpers, had backdoor cuts, putbacks, and even ally-oops.

    I don't see how the Pistons is a one-dimensional team.</div>

Depends on how you define your dimensions. The Pistons are a superior defensive team in the various schemes you mentioned.

However, my point was they are still lacking an offensive punch for me to consider them a complete team. What they are doing in the Laker series has been amazing, but they haven't done this consistently during the regular season. In the regular season there were periods when the offense went completely silent and the defense kept them in games. The defense of Detroit is the constant variable winning games for them. Unfortunately for the Lakers, the Pistons are clicking from the inside and outside. Until they can do it for a majority of an NBA season my opinion will be they are a one-dimensional team. They rank near the bottom in PPG and have one of the lowest shooting percentages in the league.

Props to Emo for telling it like it is, because the Lakers did play like "Sheed" (More like SH**). But the refs did call some messed up calls. I never heard so many whistles against one team in such a short period. Now this comes from a fan who wants the Pistons to win.

Oh man oh man oh man. Weren't people saying how every team shouldn't even play the season before the season started because the Lakers were automatically going to win the championship?

I see what you mean Shapecity. I agree, the Pistons are not nearly as consistent on offense as they are on defense but using your logic, the Lakers are also a one dimensional team then in the sense that they are a powerhouse offensive team in Shaq and Kobe but pretty much inconsistent in every other aspect other than a guy named Shaq. Also, this shows that defense wins championships not always powerhouse offense. Overall though, the Pistons deserve it more as they have become the better and more complete team in this series.

in the last five years stellar offense has won the championship three times. Defense only won it twice and both times they had a pretty good offense. remember?

btw the pistons havent won yet

You guys gotta remember that the Lakers are no Mavericks on "D". Their not a juggarnaut, but their no slouch either.
