Which player(s) do you guys feel are making a mistake by entering this year's draft... For Personal reasons I like why Telfair is entering the draft, but for his career I think he is too raw and needs some College ball..and JR Smith, I think he could use some years under Roy Williams at UNC. TOlate now though.
I agree, Telfair also, I'm glad and respect that he's doing it for his family. But had he any experience in college, he'd have a shot by now. Hard times....secondly is Deng, if he stayed in college he'd be more NBA ready and much better, however it's like his only choice, so I'm fine with it. Lastly is JR Smith, simply because much like the other two I've mentioned, with a bit of time and the fact that he had the choice to do other ball, the experience and skills he'd gain would be invaluable and make him better for the NBA.
I think JR entered because of the hype he received at teh McDonald's All Star Game..and Telfair entered for 2 reasons..His Family and the popularity he has with some NBA players/scouts/and other kids who love his game.
Nate Robinson, I think he can play in the league, but one more year of college could get him higher in the second round and give him more experience as a PG.

Wow. That is one dumb fella. A player that was smart enough to withdraw from the draft is Ivan Chireav. No explanation needed.
Telfair made a dumb move, Deng as well, as did Donta Smith. Donta Smith went from playing JuCo ball to entering the draft. VERY poor decision to make on his part I think. Deng should have stayed in college for a couple more years, maybe make himself into a potential #1 draft pick in future years. Oh, also, Trevor Ariza from UCLA. Didn't have a huge Freshman year but he declared. Should have stayed in college for another year or 2. Besides that, I don't see too many others. I mean maybe some of the Euro players, but I don't know too much about them. Some smart decisions to return to school: Hakim Warrick, Ryan Gomes, Francisco Garcia, etc.....
i hear telfairs family is in bad shape but i also know that marbury and telfair are cuzins. why doesn't he ask for financial aid from marbury and telfair could still go to louisville and then pay marbury back when he makes the big bucks in the nba later on......just a thought. it would be better for telfairs career.

If he were to come out after his senior year and be the number one pick, he'd still make less than his second NBA contract which will be due in the same year now that he's going pro.
Deng at this time already projected to be the number 3 pick. It's almost sure. I don't really think it can get any higher even if he stay another year in college.

Would you want to go to the NBA, be a top 10 pick, and not be the best in the NBA, or go to college a couplemore years, maybe make yourself into a top 3 pick and be a great player right off the bat in the league? One thing I respect the most is players going to college. I would love to see them all go to college for the full 4 years mainly because college basketball I like more than the NBA. But also because it's nice to see each and everyone of them blossom and make themselves into the best player they can entering the league. Deng I think, IF he gets pick by Chcago or Charlotte will make a great impact right off the bat, because Chicago is in the middle of rebuilding it seems and they are in need of a SF and Charlotte is an expansion team and need every position. Also, maybe getting pick by the Hawks he will make an impact as well. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, in my opinion, Deng isn't at his highest level that he could be at. Would you rather ride the bench for a year or 2 in the league, or stay in college and be playing a hell of a lot of minutes developing your game? You decide. My opinion, Deng stays in college to make himself into a higher draft pick in future drafts. Sorry if I didn't make much sense there. I tried eplaining the best I could. If you don't understand, I will try to word it differently.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jdawg909:</div><div class="quote_post">Telfair made a dumb move, Deng as well, as did Donta Smith. </div> Dumb move for Telfair and Deng? Why? Only basketball wise, in terms of their life decisions I commend them. They're class acts and simply wanted to get them out of the rut and improve their standards of living. Game wise yes, however I do highly agree with you about Warrick, he's great, hell yeah, no doubt. But he has too much and relies too heavily on "athleticism", his game's too raw and unready. Once he is though, man he's going to become one hell of a player.
Everybody predicted below the 20th pick, unless their seniors and cant get any better. All high schoolers.
Telfair - could really benefit with at least 2 yrs of college Deng - I think will have trouble adjusting to the NBA game and should definitely stay Igoudala - should stay to work on his scoring ability and outside shooting Delonte West - should stay because there is alot of work needed and possibility to get player of the year depending on how good SJU does next year. Trevor Ariza - should stay, what is this guy thinking? I never even heard of his name during the season, also on draftcity he did horrible in the pre-draft camps.

Deng won't be on the bench, he'll be playing his first year unless he gets traded to some team with a star SF, but I don't see how much higher he can get? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Igoudala - should stay to work on his scoring ability and outside shooting</div> His shooting has drastically improved, and he's even getting top 5 considerations, I think it's fine.
That would be my mistake then. I ahven't looked at a mock draft in a while and last I looked at one they had him at about 6 or something. I just looked at a couple and it syas he could go to Chicago at 3. That's my fault.
Livingston not going to Duke was a big mistake. He could of gotten way better, gained some weight, and at least know how to become a better shooting guard (since that's what Duke is known for). He isn't the size of a point guard, and he needs to adjust that.
i heard from denver post that livingston cant even bench 135?!?!?!?!?!!!?how ridiculous is that.hes a a few month from playing in the nba and cant bench 135. i can bench 135 easily and im in 8th grade.i really think he shud go to duke go gain some weight and add more muscles
Nate Robinson will be returning to Washington, at least from what I hear. I think Donta Smith made a mistake. He could of been a lottery pick if he developed his game in Louisville. As for Livingston, I've seen him play in the State finals, hes a good player, obviously any player coming out of highschool should go to college to develop, but I feel he's ready. I think he can contribute right away.
probably telfair, i dont think he made a wise choice but you never know what might happen, maybe he will become a good player and it was the right decision or maybe not and he will have a downfall rookie year.
