It seems as if all the top name players are declining the offers to play overseas representing their country. (Ray Allen, Tracy McGrady, Shaq, KG, Kobe Bryant, Mike Bibby, etc.)

With that said, what about the AND 1 players?

They play together all the time, and seem to work well as a team. If anyone could represent America, it could be the Streetballers themselves, right?

    ----

Personally, I wouldn't buy the idea, but it's still something to consider. It could attract a larger fan base, and pull in new fans as well. The question people would most likely ask would be - Can they score without dunking? But think about it, Rafer Alston is in the NBA. These guys have the talent.

If they had to play by Olympic rules and against Olympic competition, they would get crushed worse than the Canadian team. Those guys are like the Globetrotters. They're good actors, but bad basketball players.

Are you serious? If the 2002 USA team couldnt beat Yugoslovia, then how can America call in street ball players to beat Yugoslovia? Most street ball players arent good organzied basketball thats why they play on the street and not the hardwood.

Choach, yeah they would most definately be crushed playing by standard rules. It's hard for a streetballer to adapt to rules and real organized ball.

no way. those guys have great handles.. but not one of em could 'D' up to save there lives.. let alone shoot an open 20 footer. I would love to see the 5 best streetballers in the us play the all-nba team and watch the nba team crush them to bits. These street ballers who think they got game better than nba ballers really need to be put in check.

Look at Skip. He was a sick streetballer, but an average NBA pg (sometimes above or below average). That's a reflection on how they'd play against top teams in the world.

Can you really imagine Escalade running down to defend the fastbreak?

when skip first came into the league he would still try to do all the fancy dribbling and skip around and they called all of that just about everytime he had the ball...LMAO at escalade running down the court to defend fastbreak

No chance. Unless it's Streetball vs. Streetball, then it would make sense. I know Canada has some amazing streetballers and would probably give the AND1 group a run for the money. Also, Streetballers are undersized and would get manhandled in International competition.

The olympic committee should consider going back to amateur status since so many stars are declining the opportunity to represent their country. They don't take pride in it like the Original Dream Team did. Bring back the college players, and/or the NBDL to represent us and possibly some high schoolers.

It's official. Nobody thinks this is a good idea, like everybody has posted they would get crushed because they don't play D/ Their undersized/ and would have a hard time not trying to do all those carry dribbles. Especially Hot Sauce.

First up, i wouldn't want them too and i dont think they even would go to this. USA would be a huge joke if they had to bring in a bunch of ghetto-ballers who arent even good into the olympics. I dont want to be represented like that. Street ballers dont even know what real rules are, they would be able to thrpow the ball at the opposing players, pull down their pants, and alley-oop it. Half of that against the rues and the other half they would pull off against actual defenders...

I guess they wouldn't match up at all against the other countries. It's pretty smooth when they play in the streets, but it would be a joke if they played for our country. I can't see why players are afraid of terrorist attacks and such things like that. They probably going to have security up the yingyang.

Some of you are F'in Retards. They don't know the rules? They can't play D? They can't shoot? That's why a lot of them played college, NBDL and overseas. This is also a stupid thread. STREETBALLERS TO REPRESENT AMERICA? OMG. ANOTHER THING,
