is this series over? Do you think the Lakers will be the first team to ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals? Is that arrogance gone or are you still beaming with confidence? Just curious to see your thoughts on the rest of the series.

    no chance.

the lakers have done everything possible, to no avail.

they've been flicking the proverbial switch on and off, but nothing's happening.

Looks like Payton and Malone won't win a ring afterall. This is great. Pistons winning it all in 6 games is my prediction. Nice.

If the Pistons lose the next game in Detroit, there's a great chance that the Lakers will win it in 7. But I'm confident that the Pistons will be the first home team to sweep the middle games in a 2-3-2 format.

i don't know if it's a "great chance". the Pistons are a great playoff road team and they've shown that they can win in L.A.

are you guys serious?!? Lakers have run out of gas. They are cocky, still won't admit that Pistons are BETTER than they are. Their selfishness and cockyness will bring them down FOR GOOD.

If the Lakers do not win, then Malone and Payton have made the biggest mistakes of their careers. Malone gave up his points to win a ring, and still did not get it. Payton, meanwhile, saw his stock drop. Their careers will be marred by this decision.

The Pistons, meanwhile, will be the Cinderella story of the year. They beat the odds and competed in every single game of the series. Kudos to them.

Im a Laker fan and I still believe that the Lakers can do it. Dont worry.

Lakers will be the first in history. Not thanks to Malone or Payton but thanks to the people who are the true Lakers. Shaq,Kobe,Fox,Fisher and George.

Those people will bring another championship back to LA where it belongs.

just have enough balls to come back and admit you're wrong if the Lakers lose. if you're going to dish it out, have enough integrity to take the heat when your team loses.

2-3-2 format is stupid. i don't understand the need to go from 2-2-1-1-1 to the team with the lower record between the two get 3 home games in a row, that is a lot in the playoffs. i know that the nba always figures that a series will finish in the home courts teams home court, but momentum and a series can be changed so much with three home games as detroit is showing(eventhough they only played 2 so far. you'd think they play even better in their 3rd hg). i know no team has won all 3 games, but eventually the team that had the best record and has 'home court' can easily lose three in a row eventually because teams are all improving their roster to where both the west and east will be evenly matched and the west won't be so dominating and the team that has 3 at home basically has home court b/c if they get to the finals, they can at least win one on the road. i just think the 2-3-2 format is stupid and they should've just kept it how the first three rounds are.

Well thats what they get for jumping the bandwagon. If only they joined Detroit. No wait, that decision might ruin the Pistons.

theclown1, I like your diehard passion for our Lakers, but we really have to be realistic here. This series is over. The Lakers really needed to win Game 4 to put pressure on the Detroit Pistons to force a three game series, but of course we didn't execute down the stretch, we once again got back in the penalty early, and as the minutes went by, frustration set in and we started to unravel. And if we thought Games 3 and 4 were loud, wait until we hear how Game 5's crowd will be like. If you're serious about the Lakers winning this Game 5, then check out what Kobe was doing at the news conference. Joking with the media, having a smirk on his face like he doesn't care, and actually telling the media that his teammates need to hit open shots, when he had the golden opportunity to feed a man that was having a better all-around game than he was, the Big Fella. Detroit has this in the bag, they should win it, and we should be ready to discuss the offseason and the new changes surrounding this team.

It sounds nice to say the Lakers will be the first team to ever come back froma 3-1 deficit but I would like to hear reasons how. I'm not trying to rub it in but I am actually curious as to how you believe they will come back.

I just don't say any way that they can. What adjustments can they make? Phil, supposedly a great coach and adjustment maker, has yet to find ways.

That my friends is a true Laker dan. Nothing biased about him at all.
Malone and Payton,I feel, made one of the biggest decisions that will haunt them for life. Malone getting hurt and Payton not showing up to play is one of the biggest reasons IMO Detriot is winning this series. But I still feel Detroit have been playing better then the Lakers all through this series. And you can put that on their defense.
