By urbs from real gm I was putting together some info for my next article and thought you guys would find some of this interesting. Remember how big of a deal it was when T-Mac starting struggling against Tayshaun Prince and the Pistons defense and how people bashed him for it? I included the stats for all 7 games T-Mac played in these averages, so that made them even worse. If I looked at just the first four or five games, they would be even better. Just thought I'd see what you guys think about this info. Also remember how T-Mac was continually double and triple teamed because HE DID NOT HAVE SHAQ on his team. Say what you will about the shot Kobe had in game two, but it is easy to see McGrady had a much better series last year overall - with a much worse team and no home court advantage. McGrady ? 31.7ppg, 6.7rpg, 4.7apg, 2spg 45% shooting, 2.3 threes pg, 8.3 FTs pg Bryant ? 22.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 4.5apg, 2spg 39% shooting, 1 three pg, 3.25 FTs pg I thought this post was real interesting what do you guys think?
I think it shows that Kobe needs to drive and get to the foul line a lot more than he has. Good comparison also, thanks for the stats.
You can't compare the same defensive intensity from a First Round Series to an NBA Finals series. After all, the entire Detroit Pistons defense picked up drastically from the 02-03 to the 03-04 season.

Bad comparison. It was already stated. The Detroit team has changed. They added Rasheed Wallace, and have gotten much better on the Defensive End thanks to Larry Brown.
i agree its an unfair comparison because of the reason(s) stated but above... but will also add that it wasn't until later in the series that detroit really let prince have his shot at tmac. so he had much less pressure at the beginning of the series... but i still do think tmac's offensive game is more polished than kobe's.
Tracy is the best offensive player in the league. Correction , the best offensive player when he wants to be. This year he just gave up , all he did was take jumpers, just gave up on his team. I have a feeling he is going to have a monstorous season
