theres 11 minutes left. sure theyre getting blown out. sure its over. but JESUS CHRIST!! your the LA LAkers. Youre an NBA team. play with some freakin PRIDE!! Jordan would never play like this at the end of a game and everyone on the lakers is doggggging it
That's the desire of Malone working there. He's a loser, always has been always will be. The Lakers sealed their fate of not winning by picking up a bitch loser like him.
They did this last year against the Spurs. No big surprise for me, once they gave up the early lead in the first quarter they quit on themselves.
I told you Pistons were gonna win, everyone who said the lakers were winning this series still, are idiots
Idiots? How about fans having some faith in their team? After all doesn't a true fan stick with their favorite team until the end?

Its good to see the wealth spread. Its good to see the team dynamic beat a star dynamic. Thank You.
You could tell this series was over at the half, when you seen the close up ABC got of Shaq face at the half when LA was only dwn by 10. He didnt even look like he believe anymore. Once the big fella heart & belief got taken the game was over. The funniest thing was how they followed the evolution of shaq emotios shown on his face from quarter to quarter. At half time he looked disappointed & clearly lacked belief. By the end of the 3rd his eyes started to water up. And it looked like he was fighting to keep the tears in. But by the end 4th he looked angry. It seems that in the back of his mind, he started reliving all the stupid distractions & selfish play the Lakers had ths year. And it made him angry because he knows that ultimately it played apart in him losing a championship or not getting a championship. So it was just interesting to watch Shaq show his emotions like that on his face instead of out his mouth like he normally does.
Props to the Pistons. The Lakers didn't play at their best considering it's the biggest situation you can possibly be in the NBA. I don't understand why. If the Pistons were making them play like an undetermined team, despite playing their best, then I would understand that. If not, then they should really be ashamed of themselves.
Great win for the Pistons. The Lakers just did not have anything going for 'em...Malone getting hurt, shots not dropping, questionable officiating...but the main thing is the best team won because they earned it & deserved it. They were a solid team last year and this year, Rasheed put them over the top. They were the underdogs but the brilliant coaching of Larry Brown, amazingly well balanced contributions by the team and the overall intensity the Pistons brought every night is admirable. I truly believe there were some questionable calls against the Lakers...but even then, the Pistons gave 'em a straight up 'ol fashioned ass-whoopin'. No, I'm not jumping off the bandwagon. I'm angry, disappointed...but loyal. I stick with my teams in the losing times as well. I think it was Game 4 when they showed a Pistons fan holding up a sign that said: Our Full House Beats Your Pair...that most certainly held true this series.
I knew that the Pistons matched up well with the Lakers but I never thought that the Lakers would get absolutely DOMINATED in a series like this. What an embarrassment and horrible way to end a great stretch of 5 years. I was embarrassed for the Lakers in this game, no heart and no chance for the Lakers in game 5. Props to the Pistons!
The turning point of the game IMO was Chauncey's circus-shot three point play in the third quarter... that stretched the lead to 14 or 16, it just demoralized the Lakers in a big way. The Lakers lost focus after that, even rookie Luke Walton committed two turnovers off his usually great decision-making passes. Detroit sets an example to not only the Lakers but the rest of the NBA that teams should play it the right way... it's actually more fun to watch teams go hard on both possessions like the Pistons.
I really believed in Kobe's prediction. I still can't believe they went out like that. Magic's speech did not work at all. I wish GP could've came up big in one game. Kobe struggled the entire series and even though he played hard and drove the ball to the rim. He got stripped alot which led to their fastbreak points. There was no 3rd guy at all in this series. I like Detroit as an Eastern conference team and never expected them to win, especially the way they did. Good job Detroit.
Kobe got screwed because nobody else was making shots. No 3rd scorer/contributer = more men to zone up on Kobe (and Shaq). It was Spurs-Lakers 2003 all over again. It was a huge weakness and the Pistons exploited every last bit of it.

Absolutely no 3rd option and GP couldn't find any way to contribute at all almost during the whole playoffs.
I really thought they had it all. I wanted Malone to get a ring seriously, he worked really hard. I'm very happy for the Pistons though, shows just how smart Dumars is. He believed in his team and got Darko so that his "team" image wouldn't be ruined. Big props to him and his team, their defense, teamwork and skills got them the crown. Congratulations Pistons Fans! Billups really came through in the latter of the playoffs....
CONGRADS TO THE 2004 NBA CHAMPIONS. Yes, I am giving credit where credit is due. The Pistons were hitting on all cylinders last nite and deserved to win. Being a long time Laker's fan, I was hoping for a miracle from Shaq and company. They looked good in the first quarter but was downhill after the first half. Detroit was the better team last nite and played like they wanted to win. Hustle, defense, speed, rebounding, scoring and excuting was very good. I will always be a Laker fan regardless if we win or lose. We are not idiots as some in this thread indicated. I don't like us losing but there always is a loser if some one wins. Laker fans are loyal fans and we have been rewarded for our loyalty many times over. Piston fans are very happy now because their team won but are they loyal only because Detroit won. I think not. So give the Lakers and their fans here on this forum some slack and understand that we Laker fan are loyal win or lose. Yes, I am very disappointed that the Lakers didn't win but there will be next season. I for one, am not changing my loyalty because of one season. This summer will be very exciting and interesting because of the changes that will be made in the Laker organization. I can't wait till the 2004-2005 season starts this fall. LONG LIVE THE LAKERS
I don't see how the Lakers should be ashamed. They actually didn't stop playing because they did manage to get the lead down to 13, and, at a time, it was over 20something. The Lakers gave it their all, but, the Pistons were the better team. They had better play overall from everyone and played outstanding defense. I don't care how much the Lakers were favored, they shouldn't be ashamed. They made it there but fell a couple steps short.
