Mad kudos to the Pistons. Damn they wanted it so much more and this was about almost as easy as a series like when they played the Bucks. [IMG]

First of all, I would like to say congratulations to the 2004 NBA champions, the Detroit Pistons. They deserved what they worked for the whole season. All those ups and downs, but they perservered more than any other team, and they managed to stay as one unit. Big ups to the Lakers. They made this series worth watching for the fans, and it was a better series than last year's. They deserved to be in the finals, and they were a good contender for the Pistons. Big ups to Malone. He was the backbone of the Lakers this season, and he was the reason why they got to the finals. I wish that he will remain a Laker, along with the other 3 hall of famers, and I hope they try to win it next year. Malone's career is far from over because he hasn't won a championship yet. If he wasn't in shape as he is now, he would of retired 4 years ago, and he said that himself. I believe he can endure for 2 more years considering that. Untill he wins that covet, we can take our hats off to him and make him leave the game in a fashionable way.
If the Lakers played at their best throughout the whole series, they would of had a higher possibility of winning it. Unfortunately, the Pistons exploited every answer to the Laker's problems, especially on defense, and just unexpectedly pummeling the Lakers in 5. It's ironic how an elite player in Kobe couldn't translate his words on the court. I thought it was a fact that the Lakers were going to own the Pistons in game 5. No offense to Kobe, I don't even think it's an offensive attack on him, but he should of pulled a Jordan and dominated the whole Pistons. I understand that Jordan struggled in '89 and '90 versus the Pistons, and I understand that Jordan's student was put in the same pressure, but I don't even think this Piston team were any better on defense than those Pistons. Their only great true defender is Wallace. Prince is always a darkhorse on defense. He will stop players on certain occasions, but he can never stop Kobe. Kobe was always driving in which was a good thing as he got his free throws, but he should of drove in for the attempts that he bricked the shots. I don't even remember him making atleast 5 jumpers. The Laker's offensive set is pretty useless when it comes to facing the Pistons. They do the triangle motion, and when Shaq passes out to his teammate, they brick the shot. I think they should of done other plays that would make the Pistons think twice. If Payton was actually determined for the championship, the Lakers wouldn't of been struggling, and they would of most likely won the series in 6, which I predicted before it started.
When Darko got his garbage time, he didn't do anything that would leave a last impression on the fans and his team. He bricked like 5 shots including the free throws, and he got his pocket stolen like 2 times. It seemed like he was so nervous that he was on a NBA court with a 22,000 fans watching him with every other player on the court who's better than him. I don't understand how most of you see a bright future in him. If you do, so be it. He can either be a star in the league, or he might be a bust. I see him leaning more to the negative side.
During the presentation for the Finals MVP and the NBA champions, Darko was at the back of the swarm. The light was shining on the whole swarm, and it was leaving out Darko LOL. I never even saw Darko getting a chance to touch the trophy. All of the members of the Pistons except him were touching the trophy and going crazy while he was just at the back like a Pistons spectator. See, he knew he didn't earn it. Imagine if he contributed to their ring, you would see him in the front of the swarm kissing and feeling the trophy.

I just found out that Larry Brown was available in open arms for the Raptors before the season started, but they passed him LOL. They passed up a coach who was the best strategy creater, and arguably the best current coach for a rookie coach would had no brains, but a somehow "firey" mindset. They said he was a defensive minded coach, but the Raptors were the worst defensive team in the season. My team would of automatically been in the playoffs if he was our coach. He would of made those scrubs such as Moiso, Archibald drastically better. That was probably the primary reason why that stupid Grunwald got fired as General Manager.

Congrats to teh pistons. And it sounds like we may have seen the last of the lakers we know. Phil Jax is pretty sure hes out. Kobe didnt really say what he's doing but i get the feeling hes out. I was surprised to hear what shaq said, it sounds like he may want a trade in the offseason. He has said before that he wont play for anyone but Phil Jax. I agree with what shaq said about it being a crazy summer. I wonder what the lakers roster will look like next year and who their head coach will be.

    Amen to that.

Congrats to the Pistons, they proved you don't need future HOFers to win it all.

I still think it's amazing they won without a major superstar.

Congrats to the Pistons. Their owner of the Pistons racked up with championships this year. He won the WNBA, NBA, and NHL championships.

Darko was just joking with them Lakers. So they won't be the only people who can't hit any shots.

Ding Dong the Witch is DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you pistons for not only being extremely entertaining, but putting an end to this Laker team. It's finally over and what a way to go out, crashing and burning like all of us Laker-haters hoped they would. Everyone's saying the Pistons won without a superstar, your all wrong, they won with a team full of 'em, that's DETROIT BASKETBALL. Jeez I think i might be jumping on this bandwagon, i already style my hair after ben wallace, why not support the team too, you guys are my favorite east team. Hope you all stick around for awhile, you'll make the NBA better.

Pistons all the way. I picked them at the start of the playoffs to win it all!!!!! [IMG] You just can't score on them. It should have been over before, but Kobe had to hit that shot. Good luck next year guys. Have a great offseason. (Go Magic!!!!!)

I was expecting GP to convert, he didn't. Alas poor Lakers, maybe next year, it's too bad your main roster is probably going to be different next year. However Kobe and Shaq don't really belong together, maybe this loss was for the best. Pistons....what can I say? Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Pistons. They thoroughly outplayed the heavily favored Lakers in every possible facet of the game and they truely deserve it. And, lastly, congrats to Larry Brown. 21 years in the league and you get your first NBA title to go with that NCAA one.

Man, I never believed that the Lakers will just roll over and die in this game. Where's their pride? All those championships, Zen master, Magic Johnson, 4 future hall of famers? I expected them to at least win this game and lose the next one. But damn, from what they showed in this series, Detroit sure are the champions. Congrats!

Congratulations for the Pistons to win it all in the Palace. Joe Dumars built the team, Larry Brown coached it and Finals MVP Chauncey Billups led the effort to return the Larry O'Brien Trophy to Detroit.
