That's all that can be said on the matter. The Piston's WANTED this. I'm surprised that Larry could bring them to this game so hungry.

Truly a disappointing season...however, some memories were made...as a basketball fan, that's all you can ask for....as a laker fan, this sucks but at least we all saw it coming so it didn't hurt as much.....hopefully, this wont be a lost year for l.a., go dodgers!!

This year I really am not upset at all that the Lakers didn't win it all. Last year I was real disappointed but this year I just wasn't as into it. I love the Lakers obviously, but if there's one team I would rather see win it all it would be the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons just wanted it much more than the Lakers, and they deserved it much more with all the work they put in this year. Great job by the Detroit Pistons, the 2004 NBA Champions.

If I were the Laker players (all of them) I would want revenge and to take next years title the way they started this season. The goal would be to crush everyone, no taking games off. And brandish the title of the "NEW DREAM TEAM" ( you remember how the original Dream Team beat others, don't you?)

I agree, I'm not mad the Pistons won it, I'm mad at how the Lakers lost it. The Lakers had a great season and fought through the drama and injuries, but then let it all slip away in the most important games of the season.

I'm sorry, but Gary Payton just doesn't seem to fit in their play. If Jackson leaves (I don't know why this will be warranted) and they get away from the triangle, Gary might fit, but not now. BUT IN ALL HONESTY, I think this may be the end for Kobe and Shaq. Before, they could at least bank on winning, but now things have changed and there may not be a reason to keep the two egos together any longer. I heard the Bryant and Maggette are great friends, and Kobe will not have to re-locate. BUT I also heard rumors of Shaq wanting to return to Orlando. Kobe and T-Mac? Shaq and T-Mac? [IMG]

Bad luck Laker fans, you still have plenty of rings to fall back on. I await MDE's spluttering excuses and complete disregard for the Pistons' efforts with anticipation.

No offense to the lakers fans but I am glad they didnt win it this year. I actually kind of like the lakers but i don't want to see a team win 4 out of 5 years. I didnt think for a second at the beginning of the year that there was any possibility a team in the east could win even 2 games against the west team, what with the lakers twolves kings spurs and mavs owning the offseason. All in all the lakers coudlnt fight through their injuries and the pistons just completely outplayed them. Congrats to both teams on making the finals.

My heart already had one wound, now its got one more, all i have to say. Now all i can put my hopes on is a fair rebuild. Even without kobe, malone, payton and all those we will have to be a competitive team next year. Otherwise .... the balcony is not far away.....

I don't have a problem with losing. Some one will always win and some on will always lose. We were outplayed last nite and most of the Finals against Detroit. We should still be proud of the Lakers considering all the problems they had this year. We still made the finals which is a big accomplishment. This summer will be interesting to see what Buss and the Laker organization do to help our Laker be better in 2004-2005 season. I think Shaq is still very dominant in the NBA but how many years more can he play? Kobe has said he wants to leave but would he stay if Shaq was traded? Will Buss offer Jackson a new contract? Jackson is dating Buss's daughter and she said on a talk program she was 90% sure Jackson would be coach next season. I only hope that Buss makes the right decisions for the Lakers and get players that will play defense and as a TEAM. I know all Laker fans are disappointed, angry and crushed about the Finals but we will survive this season. LONG LIVE THE LAKERS [IMG]

A better example would be the Bulls. MJ was the scorer, Pippen was the 2nd man, Rodman was the rebounder and defender, Harper distributes the ball, Luc was the center of the triangle, Toni as the spark of the bench, etc.

If they're going to stick with their line-up right now (including the attitude). There's no way they're going to crush everyone next season. Let's do some roll-calls. Who's the main man? Shaq or Kobe? Who'll sacrifice and be the 2nd man? Who'll defend and grab the board? Shaq doesn't defend the pick and roll. Sure Shaq grabs boards if he's up to it. Who'll distribute the ball consistently? The Mitten? It's chaos even from the start.

Im just so hurt when i see malones face after the loss over and over again. I cant stand him having won no title at all in his career while we could have made it happen. God is just so unfair. Isnt Bball not only just the players and the coach, but also a bit of God? Like the clutch shots, there is a lot of luck in there too isnt there? But alright, the Pistons played great also and i wouldnt have beared to lose to any other than this team, respect after all.

I can't imagine Malone crying and hugging the trophy if he won it. It's like trying to imagine a rock being folded and bent. I guarantee he will win it before he retires. No way can a career like that be left without a title.
