http://celebrityjustice.warnerbros....s/0406/03b.html Kobe and Vanessa Considering Split? June 3, 2004 "CJ" has learned that Kobe Bryant's wife, Vanessa, has reportedly sought legal advice in recent months from prominent Los Angeles divorce attorney Stacy Phillips, who has a red-hot celebrity client list. Thanks to Phillips, action star Jean-Claude Van Damme's former wife, Darcy LaPier, walked away from her marriage with stuffed pockets. Now the word is that Vanessa has had at least one meeting with the divorce attorney, who is known as one of the 50 most powerful women in Los Angeles law. Phillips could not be reached for comment. The Bryants seemed committed to each other back when the rape charges broke, but "CJ" has learned that the marriage was already on rocky ground and that Kobe had himself seen an attorney. Sources have told us the lawyer's name, but the prominent Beverly Hills attorney won't return our calls. In possibly related developments, sources reveal that Bryant is flooding Vanessa's bank account with cash trying to keep her happy. The other buzz is that Vanessa may be living part-time with her mother, in a $2 million Newport Beach home, which Bryant bought soon after he was accused of rape. Documents show that Kobe put that home in both his and Vanessa's names. Meanwhile, Vanessa's stepfather, Stephen Lane, doesn't want to pay any more alimony to her mother Sofia. In court papers, Stephen said that, because of Kobe's money, Sofia is living in a luxurious residence and shops at the finest stores, while he makes only $65,000 per year.

Why would she divorce when she will only be wealthy with Kobe? Does she think she can maintain her financial wealth if she divorces? Plus, it was only one incident that she got cheated on. He will never do it again, so he will always do his wife and not an anonymous chick.
She's a celeb now dude. Im quite sure she will take that pre-nup loot and take great acting lessons and tryout for some roles in a movie or soap oprea or some crap. Man, If I were to be making millions of dollars like Kobe, I wouldn't get married, unless it was someone I knew VERY well.

Uber, do you have a link for that article? For future reference, do NOT post articles in their entirety. And when you do post bits of an article, be sure to cite the source (aka link).
The Lakers are going to do a lot of work in the offseason, with the possibliity of the breakup of the team likely than not...My question is this? Will these off season moves hurt or help the Lakers in the Long Run??

And like <div class="quote_poster">Quoting ubermensch5150:</div><div class="quote_post">i went to high school with her. she's a hoodrat. she is to gold digging what kobe is to basketball. she's pretty cute now, but never marry a video hoe. for god sakes he met her on a Snoop Dogg video shoot</div> Something like that. Pretty sure that's why the family didn't like her. Plus she was so young, to me you should have no buisness getting married at what 18. Especially when you're a celeb. Now it looks like he's about to lose his wife and half of his earnings. From a financial standpoint, it was stupid of him to get married in the first place. I mean damn, he got married the age his wife is now. Ahh, I knew this would happen really soon. + there isn't no way your gonna stay faithful when you're a big star and still your twenties.
1. i am not a laker hater...supra is (that much is true)...but can't really hate people for hating the lakers...the lakers are the yankees of the basketball world (except for we actually have salary cap restrictions that we need to abide by)...and if it werent for the fact that i was born and raised on the lakers hell i'd prolly hate them too...i am, however, one of the biggest kobe bryant fanatics around so umm yah... 2. your info says you are in riverside but you said you went to Marina high? if thats the case do you go to UCR ? cuz if you do don't even try to call either of us stupid...cuz i coulda gone to UCR when i was 12 years old...im still laughing at the thought of a potential UCR student calling me stupid 3. i do talk about basketball most of the time, but like any decent friend should, i dont like people trying to put down my friends...true sometimes he talks about his supra too much but he loves his car (loves it too much in my opinion but thats just me) so if you do have any interesting basketball topics to post on i'd be glad to do the whole back and forth thing to see if any interesting ideas could come out of the debate or conversations...you'd probably find that i really do have one of the more creative basketball minds around in respect to players, teams, and the business side of the nba... 4. did you play ball at marina? if so did you know my cousin randy? he graduated 2000... so yah im not trying to be an ass or anything like that...just lay off my friend and i wouldn't really have anything to say...i haven't really found any of your posts very interesting though (nothing worth replying to although i'll admit i'm a week behind and havent gotten around to reading all your boring posts yet since i was chillin out in the bahamas all of last week)...to me you're like that one guy from the bar scene in good will hunting...you're real good at repeating the ideas of others and trying to make it seem like somehow that makes you smart...but real intelligence lies in your ability to think for yourself and develop new ideas, theories, possibilities etc... p.s. my car is dope...i drive a 1993 I4 Toyota Camry with no cd player (hell i don't even have a tape player), two missing hubcaps, a cracked front left headlight and dented in front left fender, and a giant hole in the rear left quarter panel of my car...its the greatest car in the world to drive...especially since im rich but it makes everyone else think that im just some broke ghetto piece of crap... um ok dont really know why i wrote that but im too lazy to go delete it now so too bad, you're stuck reading about my anti-rice car...sorry this reply came so late but like i said before, i was gone all last week...
REBUILD Step 1 - Fire Mitch Kupchek The team has been in decline since West went East. They were lucky to get Karl and Payton, even though the dream team didn't work out. Payton proved he is a loser, always will be. Karl has finally broken down, he's done. Go beyond Shaq and Kobe and the Lakers are the oldest, least talented, thinnest team in the NBA. There is very little room ability to sign free agents once Kobe is resigned. They can't sign and trade, since they don't have any talent beyond Shaq and Kobe. So what do you do? Find a GM that can actually bring in talented players. That's step 1.

Just wanted to share some good laughs with you guys. Here's a quote from some ubermenstruation guy that thought he knew ANYTHING about basketball . <div class="quote_poster">Quoting ubermensch5150:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaqs contract is not up for negotiation, he'll be in LA for a while.</div> Oh is he really now? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting ubermensch5150:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq for a pf and a center? why would you trade the best player in the league for anything?</div> Maybe because he wants to get out? And now, for the funniest quote ever. I posted that Kobe might go to the Clippers and this is what ubermenstruation has to say: <div class="quote_poster">Quoting ubermensch5150:</div><div class="quote_post">dood, i just noticed that you said that kobe might go to the clippers. you smoke too much mang.</div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SupraJames:</div><div class="quote_post">My prediction #1 of the next year's Lakers lineup: Kobe, Gary, Devean, new center and a new PF. I predict the Lakers make a blockbuster Shaq trade getting a star PF and at least a decent C back. Phil Jackson is gone. Malone may or may not be there but even if he is, he won't stay for long. His knees will force him to sit out.</div> My prediction looks KINDA like what's going on.... except minor details. Gary might or might not move, Odom isn't exactly a star PF yet nor he will be a PF in the West but he was Miami's PF (close enough ), a decent C in Brian Grant... yeah I know he's not really a C either but again, he's Miami's Cs  Funny when we look back into our old posts, we might catch ourselves saying "what the hell was I thinking?" btw, hi olskool <div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">very good points but no team would choose to keep kobe instead of shaq. no one.</div> Where's ubermenstruation? Haven't seen him posting after his pathetic attempt to bash me on this thread.
