"We could make it work, absolutely," Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh said Tuesday. "I have spoken to somebody in their organization, and I sensed there was interest there. What they're telling me is, there's a good chance he's going to be traded. So, yeah, a player like that out there, we're definitely going to be interested." "Once everybody agrees on the principals, our two guys for their one, you can make it work," Walsh said. "It wouldn't be that hard." Full Story
I think this is a good idea. It could really compensate for when Artest's offense is off. He's also a pretty good rebounder for a guard as well as tall. I like the sound of this prospect, but his attitude's pretty bad. What do you think the consequences are of mixing the likes of him and Artest or with a class act like J'O? Bad is all I have to say. He'd also be a bad influence on moral support, he'd demand too many minutes as well as time for handling the ball. Otherwise it is pretty good.
I think Artest would be part of the deal that brings Mcgrady here. There is no way they are letting go of JO and there has been speculation that Artest might be traded away. As much as I like Artest as a Pacer, Mcgrady is one of the top players in the game. It would be intriguing to see if he can play in Carlisles system.
Yea, it's been known now that the Pacers wanna get rid of Artest. It would probably be Harrington and Artest in the deal.
I wouldn't mind the Artest, Harrington for Tracy Mcgrady trade, if T-Mac is certain he wants to leave. Artest can bring emotion and defence, and Harrington is a pretty versitile player. And T-Mac is T-Mac... Then with some good signings/trades by Orlando, Magic could be the next Pistons.
Hopefully one of the signings can be a new coach. That's what's holding our defense up. We are not well coached at all defensively.
True sports. With all this talk about T-Mac leaving and who to draft lost in all this is our awful coach. I'd love to have Mussleman or B.Scott.
This would be a great trade for the magic the get a D stopper in Artest and Harrington who is a preety good player himself
im hopeing it happens to, ima magic and pacer fan, and i want to see this happen on both ends. love to see orl get big al and and artest. And indy gettin t-mac would mean i would actully get to see t-mac play in person
Read today's OS article. "According to one source, the Magic have asked the Pacers for as many as four players -- Ron Artest, Al Harrington, Jamaal Tinsley and Jonathan Bender -- in exchange for McGrady. To make it fit under salary-cap rules, the Magic would have to send at least one other player, likely Juwan Howard." Orlando could have a decent PG(Tinsley)... "Sources say the Magic have asked the Rockets to send back Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato, which would give them a new starting backcourt and a big man." "Those sources also indicate the Phoenix Suns might be in the mix, talking with Orlando about acquiring Shawn Marion, Joe Johnson and center Jake Voskuhl for McGrady." The other Rocket, Suns deals don't appear to be bad either... Full Story
Rocket deal I would do in a heartbeat. Cato is like Dampier defensively, less offense, but still a solid D center. Franchise would be the PG that we need and Mobley will fill in for Tmac at SG and shoot like crazy. pg-franchise sg-mobley sf-hill pf-gooden c-cato Send Juwan and Declerq and Lue as fillers.
I would do any 3 of those deals. If we want a superstar, I would do the Suns deal 1st. Matrix, plus a future superstar in Joe Johnson.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting sportsrock37:</div><div class="quote_post"> pg-franchise sg-mobley sf-hill pf-gooden c-cato </div> What happened to Okafor? Anyway, I think the Magic should do the Rockets trade. The Bobcats also have serious interest in Okafor, and I think the Magic should work out a deal where they get Shaun Livingston and another expansion player, perhaps Gerald Wallace? Dahntay Jones? Lorenzen Wright? That way, Livingston can be the big point gaurd that alows Steve to move to the 2. It would also allow Mobley to be in the lineup as Shaun could gaurd Cuttino's man. Or Cat could come off the bench and be 6th man of the year and they start Gerald Wallace or Deshawn Stevenson (if he resigns) They wouldn't contend till Livingston becomes fully developed (same with the Gooden), but they would be very fun to watch.
I don't think artest, al harrington, tinsley, bender, are worth losing just for T-Mac! come on! T-Mac ain't that great!
Na, Pacers would still have trouble with Detroit if this trade happened. But guys, seriously, Tracy is staying put at least 1 more year to see how the season turns out with the #1 draft pick. Shaq also was speaking with him basically to stay put and give it some before skipping out of ORL.
