In a prepared statement he also said: "The timing of his departure is right for Marv and thus right for the network." </div> Full Story.
He was the best broadcaster for basketball that ever came. He had the best speaking ability, enjoyed 36 years with the greatest players, and knew a hell lot of imformation about basketball. Marv Albert will be deeply missed.
I love Marv, he was simply the best ever. I can't believe he's gone, we better not have Doug Collins calling games like he wanted to last year.....uch COME BACK MARV!!!!!!!
I heard Mike Breen will probably be his replacement.....uch Also some people are saying taht Marv will replace Ian Eagle on YES.....crap Marv a Nets announcer??? DAMMIT!!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Knicks Analyst:</div><div class="quote_post">I love Marv, he was simply the best ever. And seems to be familiar with the team. Doug is decent, he knows his stuff most of the time. And always gives good perspective from the coaches point. But he is extremely boring, his commentary lacks character. And to replace someone like Marv, you would have to bring in someone with alot of personalty. I would love for Marv Albert to come over to the Nets. We still need him calling games in the tri-state area.
Wow!!!!!!!! i can not imagine watching knicks games one msg without hearing marv he is everything to the knicks team he was even in the movie frankie or something that came out in the 90's damn its gona suck to hear the knicks games without wonder if the guy that replaces him will be able to fill his spot anyway a big change to knicks basketball with him leaving
