in the east in my opinoin some of our all stars are loosin their heat but theres also some rising stars what do you think RJ's real chance at making it to the all star game is? and if you think yes can he start? if no who will?
As long as Vince is in the East, RJ won't be a starter. But if he keeps up his improvement, he'll be an All-Star in 2-3 years as a sub. Welcome to JBB. Looks like we have a new Nets fan in here.
Well RJ opened alot of eyes this season(especially after kidd & Martin went down then on into the playoffs). He still needs to work on improving his jumpshot even more. Defenses still dont respect it, so they mostly play him for the drive. But once his jumpshot gets at the consistency level it needs to be at. And teams have to start playing him for both the jumpshot & the drive, then he will become an all-star. I am happy that he chosed to play on the American squad again this year, playing with that team last year really help to improve his game during the offseason. And Iam pretty sure it will do the same again this time around. I dont see why we wont be able to start saying RJ & all-star in the same sentence as soon as next year. The main thing is that their is so much competion for those all-star guard & Small Forward spots its going to be hard for him to slide in. But he will mos def have a realistic chance next year or at the very least 2005-2006 season(if he stays with the Nets)
I think he will be a starter, he has attitude, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Therefore regardless of skill, he'd definitely have people both with and against him. In the Future, he could possibly become another poster child or highlight reel character. He's improved so much this year and has proven very effective against people of the same position. He performed well for the Nets in the playoffs, once like Wade, he gets a jumpshot, he'll be unbeatable and be a part of another form of Big Three along with K-Mart and Kidd. He tries hard defensively and rebounds very well, a little better or tweaking there and he'll be truly amazing.
rj will absolutly be an all-star. i personally believe he will be a sub next year b/c the man who plays about 2games a yr has a whole coutry voting for him ( extremely cheap. he steals votes away from people who DESERVE to be in the all-star game). of course im talking about vince carter. yeah he once was a top notch superstar, but he has been injured and if he is still breathing, canada will vote for him. that is one thing that pisses me the F off. i think the nba needs to change that. it just isnt fair for a fallen star to be taking votes and spots away from rising stars. i like vc and all, but he honestly does not deserve all the votes he gets. he just gets votes b/c he is in toronto and canada wants to be represented. there needs to be a some kind of limit b/c he can misses every game but one and be a starter. because of he has a country voting for him, guys like rj are getting screwed. he will be a reserve next year as long as his jumper continues to improve and the nets have a good/great record in the first half of the season. eventually in 3yrs i think he will have respect of everyone in the league and will be our number one offensive option and when his defensive skills improve he will be an all around player. hopefully we can have 3 all-stars next yr. kidd/kmart/rj.
RJ it a great player and will become an all star but in the small forward/ guard spot. But it will be hard for him since there are alot of players in the east emerging in that spot like Tyshun Prince and you have the existing like Vince Carter. But I think he would love to be an allstar but he said on espn and the reporters was the winning a nba championship would be great but to represent his country and win a gold medal in the olympics is a greater experience. Also being in this olympics he will be able to refine his skills that is why i wished KMart would have gone. OH Well we have a coach for this Olympics Larry Brown. On another note If we get ray allen picture it kidd/allen/jefferson/kmart as allstars that would be great

Not to mention once he starts getting more physical he'll be even better. He obviously has good offense, people like Gooden and him are the good people who can become great who do all the small things that lead to a win. RJ is the same although just as impacting, both he and DMase are my MIPs for next year. Once they breakout, same goes for Prince, once he starts taking the shots, he can make them, Mike Miller is the same way as he use to be, afraid to take the shot he can make. RJ will be useful and respected all throughout, he worked hard to get where he is, he can work even harder to become better. Once he does, you better watch out.

You would have to give up at least K-mart or Jefferson and another player just to have a shot at landing him.
He won't be next year, I don't think. If the East stay constant (meaning everyone resigns, like Kenyon), then the forwards that will make it will be: Jermaine O'Neal - starter Vince Carter - starter Kmart Artest Paul Pierce Lamar Odom It be hard for RJ to crack into that unless someone goes out with an injury, Kmart moves to the west, or Paul or Artest have a horrible year.

RJ will make the all-star team as a starter for sure but it will take 2 to 5 years for it to happen but he will probaly make the all-star team next year as a sub.
Well if T-Mac and VC are still East... RJ won't be starting. He is a good player... but not a real star player yet... maybe 2-3 years. RJ hasn't proven to me he can hit the outside shot, though he imporved just a bit... it's still not convincing.
