I do believe the Memphis Zoo will soon have some(Grizzlies) if they dont already....Will LA be aquiring any Lakes,Minnesota any Vikings,Cincinnati any Bengal Tigers,Pittsburgh any Pirates.etc etc etc..............................Its a nickname duh........

The reason Los Angeles' owner didn't change the name is because of the tradition of the team and by fan suggestion. The Grizzlies haven't even been around very long, and fans in the Memphis area I have met so far were the ones that have suggested to the "Blues" as a team name. It's an opinion of interest and only a suggestion to share thoughts about. <font color="Red"><strike>No reason to s**t in your pants about, get your head out of your ass, boy.</strike></font> <font color="Red"><font size="1">No Cursing or Personal Attacks, Wave</font></font>
The overwhelming majority of fans in Memphis wanted to keep the name Grizzlies,if you dont believe me go to http://grizzlies.infopop.cc/eve and ask them on the Official Memphis Grizzlies fan Forum thats why they kept the name..Its no biggie.Besides Memphis usually picks some dumb a$$ names.....Houndogs,Pharoahs,Maddogs etc etc..So Grizzlies is a great name.

I only posted that I thought the Blues would be pretty sweet to go along with those new jerseys, plus the city history and all.
Sad that you live in Toronto and ya' don't even know that the some of the first discovered bones of raptors were found there. Slightly around the same time the book Jurassic Park was written, which is why they were in there to begin with and where the inspiration came from. *shakes head* This is the same situation like in Nashville for the NHL. They needed a team name at the time. They used the recently discovered sabretooth tiger bones. I'm not even going to bother giving history lessons to children, lol.

I wrote the team and gave that suggestion, but they didnt want change names. Oh yeah according to a recent article about the chosing of the colors it came from Native American traditions that said Grizzlies were always referred to as Blue or grey.
Hey I even new that about the Raptors and Predators.... And Redbirds is not dumn when you consider that the StLouis Cardinals are the favorite MLB team of the majority of people in the Memphis area and the fact that Cardinals are RED.....Better than Montgomery Biscuits...lol
I like the new home jersey. It's very clean looking and simple, I agree the font could have been more original, but it's an improvement. If Kobe ever ends up there or if Troy Bell gets his own jersey, I just might have to purchase one.
I am not sure if I like the Home jerseys. I don't like the yellow stripe on them - where did we get that from? I think the away jerseys are much improved though. Anyway, does anyone remember when the team was real close to changing the team's colors to purple and orange as well as the team's name to the Express to fit it's Fed-Ex influence?
yeah i like them...they look a lot "cleaner" looking....they are similar to the Dallas Mavs jersey...though the color blue is slightly different...the Dallas blue being a little bit more royal blue looking...but NOW the Utah Jazz released a new logo and its new unies...and THEIR new unies are VERY VERY similar to the Grizz's unies...they are the exact same color scheme...only difference is the Utah's ugly font and their logo ofcourse....but all in all...their cool....its a new era alright... GO Grizzlies!
