Neither, however, does he have Hill's heart or work ethic. If McGrady worked half as hard on the court as Grant Hill has done just to get on the court, we might be looking at him as the greatest player in the game's history. </div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">There is a lot of Allen Iverson in Tracy McGrady, minus the corn rows and arrest record. T-Mac, a mannerly and likable young man, is smarter than that. But that doesn't hide the facts that are starting to surface. In anticipation of his departure, whispered stories are leaking about the staggering number of practices McGrady missed or begged off from. </div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Here's another page from history. Remember two years ago, when Horace Grant played for Orlando? ESPN.com did a story quoting an anonymous Magic player calling out Tracy McGrady, accusing him of being lazy and a malingerer, lacking both dedication and leadership skills. That anonymous player was Horace Grant, and after the story appeared, he and McGrady almost came to blows on a flight home from Chicago after an embarrassing, blowout loss. </div> There's more! This is the guy who is worth way more than Francis? Please!
Despite all of that though he has lead the league in points per game the past two years has always come big in the clutch is a NBA all star and all nba second team player has been considered for the mvp award last year lead the magic to the playoffs in the 2002-03 season despite having almost no supporting cast has won the community assists award a couple of times and can make the players around him look better thats the players you guys should be looking at despite him having a bad season this year well not him his team he is still arguable one of the 5 best players in the league thats the guy you guys should want.

He's hardly ever clutch, especially not in the playoffs... All the accolades are fine but he's getting those on talent alone, because he's obviously not a leader... 2003 season he had Darrell Armstrong to lead that team, they lost him and they lost the sole leader and heart of the team... Community Assist Award? What does that have to do with basketball? He made who look better? Who got worse without him? Who got better with him? He's one of the top 5 players in terms of talent, but at one time so were Glen Robinson and Derrick Coleman, talent matters little if you're selfish and heartless. You won't see McGrady become great until he changes his attitude toward basketball and life, he's getting married, marriage sometimes changes people so we might see greatness from him yet.

I've never been a fan of McGrady. Sure, he got game, but so does Francis. When Francis received all the bad publicity over the past season, it's not as bad compared to what this article exposes of McGrady. Don't get this guy and risk destroying team chemistry.

Gooden did better after McGrady shut himself down... Just because he got Garrity open for 3's means what? It's not like Garrity improved in anything but spot up shooting, anyone with a shot could do that... If McGrady had the heart of your favorite player the Magic would of won at least 45 games, but he doesn't... Marriage changes some though, as an NBA fan I'd like to see him change too...
We should all consider the following: 1) A deal hasnt been made, or even mentioned OFFICIALLY, by the Rockets or Magic toward the Rockets.. 2) The only team who has expressed interest, to my knowledge, publicly would be the Indiana Pacers. 3) If indeed a deal is made, and Tracy comes to Houston, he will not be the star of the Rockets, he will know that Yao comes first.. 4) Hopefully you guys know our head coach - Jeff Van Gundy, the no bull shit coach, who doesnt care if hes coaching Yao Ming or Kobe Bryant. I would rather have Brand in Houston, but, after learning that Antonio Mcdyess is interested in the Rockets, i thought we COULD have an amazing PF. There for, no reason for Brand.. All I want for the Rockets next season is a new Power Forward, and at most, a new Shooting Guard. All these people talking about how good McGrady is and all that, but if Francis was in the same position, where everyone on his team encourages him to put up 50 shots a game <==== thats sarcasim for those who dont get it, than maybe, just maybe, he'd have the same stats, if not better in the assists category, as Tmac.. About the 5 best players in the league, I dont know how to consider that, but here goes: (in no order) 1) Kevin Garnett/Twolves - Outstanding numbers in the regular season, led his team to the Wester Conference Finals, and won MVP.. 2) Tim Duncan/Spurs - Led his team to the playoffs, and a 13 game winning streak 3) Chauncey Billups/Pistons - Finals MVP, burned Payton every time down the court, nuff said. 4) Dwayne Wade/Heat - In my opinion, he was the reason these guys were able to get as far as they did, played amazing in the playoffs. 5) Carmelo Anthony/Nuggets - I thought he wouldve won RotY, apparently not.. Anyways, great season, I rate him over Lebron, got his team into the playoffs.. Yes, theres no Rip Hamilton, no Ben or Rasheed Wallace, no Shaq, no Kobe, no Kidd, no Stephon, no Francis or Yao, no Iverson, no Carter, no J. O'neal (i was gonna put him instead of TD, but..), and sure as hell no Tmac.. To answer the question, Do we want this guy? Sure, rather him scoring 30 for us, than another team right? At the price of Francis? You could argue that McGrady schools Francis, but JVG has begun to respect Francis, and you could say this is his Rookie Season, hes been introduced to something totally new to him.. So, my answer would be <u>no.</u>

Mobley Jackson Gooden McGrady Okafur Howard Cato Yao I don't know about anyone else but that Magic lineup looks better than the Rockets lineup... 2. Yes, public interest, it's not like every team makes everything public... Ego's involved you know... 3. I wouldn't bet on that... 4. I agree but how would McGrady handle a coach who does nothing but criticise his players during the season against the coaches he's had that basically babied him? The guy criticized everyone last season including Yao... About your top 5... It looked good until you added Billups and 2 rookies... If he scores 30 on another team and loses I'd be happy, if scores 30 on the Rockets and loses I'd be pissed...
I say no to this, even if he is a nice guy, be it teammates or whatever, he is rather immature even though he has matured. Sure, his scoring would be helpful, but what would you have to give up for him? Having the likes of him and Francis on the squad would ruin the whole team effort access, we should only have one of them, whomever is better at defense. Francis tries hard though, really hard, he has a good work ethic even though he messes up sometimes. And like most of the Rockets, a pretty good defender as well, TMac can be, but he's more of an offensive minded person, he's got size and rebounding ability, but that's about it, he wouldn't really add any exceptional things to the team except scoring and ball possession time. The depth would still be 'bout the same.
