Tomjanovich, who resigned as coach 13 months ago after being diagnosed with bladder cancer, owns a lifetime 503-397 record and coached Houston to back-to-back NBA titles in 1994 and 1995. He is regarded as a superb offensive coach who is well-liked by players and one who has first-hand experience relating to superstars, having coached Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley and Scottie Pippen.</div>

If he can build a team that works in a team and not around one person, then yeah. Mods, could you merge the threads about coaching rumors and stuff? There is a one in the rumor mill (paint smth) and then lots of jackson threads?!

I would love to see him coaching in L.A. He is a good coach and I think could deal with all the L.A. drama.

I did't like Rudy T's playcalling for the Rockets his last few seasons. They ran way too many isloation plays...

I believe that has a lot to do with Francis though, he shot the ball a lot, I believe that he had some influence on the calls be called.

WOW im surprised he would come back to coaching the lakers after resigning from the Yao dynasty years. I heard he is still with the rockets as the teams official talent scout so if he was to go coach the lakers he would take alot of the rockets team information with him. He is a great coach and would be a great influence in the lakers team weather they rebuild or reload.

Here's another link about the story if you want to see something else on it.

Personally, I would love to see this. He was a fantastic coach in Houston and I think he would be a good fit in Los Angeles.

He's going to bring the Lakers their 15th championship, no doubt. It would be horrifying if all the experienced coaches pass on the request. They would probably have to hire a young coach who wouldn't buy the Lakers a championship in years, like Lenny and Larry. Notice how Phil Jackson was hired as the Bull's head coach when Jordan was 26. Coincidentally, Kobe will be 26 when the season starts, and any coach, whether if it's an unknown coach (like Phil was at the time), would bring the Lakers consecutive championships out of no where, like Phil did. Perhaps Kareem Rush can be Scottie Pippen, who is developing into a superstar. [IMG]
