Won't happen to much money involved. The only option i see is Mcgrady to L.A. for Shaq, but if Kobe stays then what would you do with Mcgrady, Remember shaq has said he wont re-sign for less than the 30 mil a year he is making now. He is aging and losing some of his abilities. Who is gonna pay that, Not the lakers thats why he wants the trade.

If Kobe leaves are the lakers a rebuilding team? I think they would be, 1 (Aging) star and a bunch of old or crappy players

Kobe is astaying now that Shaq and Phil are going to leave... Also, the Lakers can offer him the best contract around... $141 Mill for 7 years...

Okay said old / Crappy i was saying old or crappy.

    Payton, malone = old.

    Shaq = Aging

    Fox, george, Medvidanko, = Crappy

And one of thime will stay, if Shaq leaves kobe stay and if shaq stays kobe leaves

Lakers look like a rebuilding team to me. Nothing wrong with that the did win 3 rings.

Yeah you're right, most of the old Lakers are on their way out. If this Shaq trade thing goes through, the Lakers will be a MUCH faster and MUCH more active team. I don't know if trading him will end up being good or bad yet, but I'll guarantee you we'll be a hell of a lot more athletic. I expect Gary to be back now that Jackson is gone, and even if Malone does decide to come back those two are still one of the best fastbreak players in the game. This offseason just started, and so much has already happened. This will be one hell of a summer!

I don't know if trading Shaq would be good. Granted it would allow them to pretty much guarantee the resigning of Kobe, I dunno. He is the difference maker and the reason why the Lakers won 3 titles under Phil. If they got Tracy, that'd be interesting. Might work. Who knows.

Man I wonder how all this Lakers stuff is going to work out? It's weird because in the Clippers forum they say the Clippers are 80% sure Kobe will sign with them.

    ok guys heres what happends...
all u lakers fans forget getting tmac. in the tampa tribune it reports the clippers have offered the magic the 2nd pick and corey maggete. That would mean the magic would own the 1st and 2nd picks in the draft. SO IT ALL COMES DOWN TO WIN NOW FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS (SHAQS GETTING OLD) OR GET THE FUTURE IN OKEFOR AND HOWARD. TOUGH CHOICE! also stephen a. smith said he thinks if orlando gets shaq then phil jackson might come to orlando with him. so here is how the trade would work...

    MAGIC
Shaq who then draws phil jackson to magic

    LAKERS
    Tmac
    1st pick
Grant Hill or Juwan Horward (to move contracts)

This is reports that have been reported on the internet and in the tampa tribune.
Also the pacers have offered ron artest, jamal tinsley, al harrington, jonethen bender
so who knows what the magic will do?
