<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">That is certainly one way to go UltimateWarrior. But aren't you tired of "potential". We haven't made the playoffs for over a freaking decade. Enough is enough. I'm not saying we have much of a chance but if we did, how could you pass on this? We need a player that we can build this team around.</div>

Tmac still wont gaurantee the playoffs..especially if he doesnt want to play here which I doubt he does..Im still leaning toward depth and chemistry over stars..I know you saw the finals so you should see what Im getting at

Either way Jrich, Dunleavy, Robinson and McGrady it doesn't give us a whole lot of improvement on defense unless we get the right players who can play defense or keep/trade for players that will make the effort to improve. The reason the Pistons are able to kick butt without a superstar is because they play defense, they've got a lot of veterans, and have a great coach who has a system built around defense and teamwork. Also the Pistons bench was pretty good with guys like Rasheed Wallace and Mehmet Okur who are both good enough to start. I think we need to build around Pietrus actually and Troy Murphy. Troy won't ever be a huge shotblocker but he'll be the guy to hold someone in the low post and outrebound the other team. Rebounding and making the effort to contest shots and stay in front of somebody is so important.

Its always a big plus to add solid defensive players and Id like to see us go after more but..are main problem last season was scoring..our defense actually kept us in alot of games

True but I blame that on Musselman's lack of a system and the fact we had no point guards who were healthy enough to make scoring easier for everyone else. Alot of times you got Cliff Robinson and NVE having to shoot these 3's because they can't get past the zone.

Yea I think injured players in general were a big problem in scoring the whole season..could you imagine if we had a healthy Murphy, NVE and Claxton the whole year.. [IMG]

True. We had some great scorers in 02-03, but unfortunately no defense. Plus you now Arenas he's got the flashes of being able to run an offense and either score himself or hand off to Jamison who is a scoring machine.
