Does anyone else think that Vince Carter has reached the peak of his potential?

This has really been plaguing me for awhile. I feel that the Carter has reached the pinnacle of his value already. He can hardly jump anymore and has turned into more more of a perimetre player than Ray Allen and Michael Redd combined.

To trade him would be making the most out of his value at this point because I don't think he will get any better than this.

His peak was 24 lol. That was his best season. Wasn't that a contract year too? Players always play better then... Other than Mo Pete.

He can still get up there, he just never gets to the basket. I don't think he'll get much better but I don't think his career is going downhill from now on, I think he'll stay at this level for a few more years.

I don't think we should trade him because I can give him enough credit; he does, afterall, win games for us. As soon as we add the finishing touches to our lineup this offseason I don't think there will be many more complaints about Carter, because this team will be winning.

I agree with Franchise, I don't think Carter's game will go downhill, but at the same time I don't see his game getting better. Carter needs a better supporting cast to take the load off of him.

I look at games and I see everyone converging on him when he drives, thus, he kicks it out to open players, but they aren't consistent.

CB4 should be a great help this year, and I see Carter's stats getting slightly better.

As much faith as I have in the Raptors, I do not think they will have a .500 record or better if they don't make any major moves during the offseason besides the draft. Last year, I had high expectations of the team after the Rose trade which eventually proved to be our downfall. I think we could reach our best potential if Rose is benched and bring us immediate leadership and scoring as the sixth man backing up three positions. However, his ego comes into question.

Carter, I believe, would have slightly better stats along the lines of 21/5/5. His assist numbers would most likely go up since he showed a willingness to dish the ball off the drive over the past two seasons. That is a positive change, especially if every other player keeps up their production and Bosh turns into a 15/10 player.

    Here's to next season! :beerchug:

I still think Cartere has the potential to be a better player, although with the supporting cast he's had and the injuries it has been hard. Eveyrone was wowed by his high flying capabilities, and I believe he's lost only a little of it.

I think in the next 3 or 4 seasons he will reach his peak, but it won't last for very long.

I too think is that he is at the pinnacle point of his career. He's still got some hops and probably enough to still beat anyone in a dunk competition i believe. In his career, i belive his statistics will not get much better than this nor his popularity but I do see his assists go a little higher like 7 per game due to the addition of players. He is just a great passer but he gets a little too passive and not aggressive enough and that is why in a year or two i think he will pass it on to chris bosh being the franchise player.
