I expected this from Malone. I think it's very likely he will retire. He's 40 years old, and, as we found out this year, his body isn't as able to go and play day in and day out as it used to be.

His body will only wear down more, so it might be the best decision he can make by retiring from a health standpoint. To bad he'll just be another great player without a ring.

Malone has had a good run,but i think he needs to retire myself. He's proven he's one of the best NBA players of our time

If he does come back, than how will he fit in with the New Lakers regrouping???

I think if he came back imo it would be more out of intrest of tring to tack on a few more points to his all time points record and mabye MABYE take number 1 on the list. As far as his body breaking down I dont think it would he is very well and very much in shape. Last year the games he missed imo were do to a freak accident.

I dont think that his injury last year had anything to do with his body breaking down do to age or not being in good enough condition any more. Just a matter of him being at the wrong place at the wrong time, and it just so happened that it was his first serious injury of his career. If he came back another year I think he could play all 82 games.

Malone should play another season for the Lakers. I don't think anyone of you realize that Malone said he would of retired 4 years ago if he wasn't as healthy and fit as he is. Look at his body. He's built and he plays like a 30 year old movement and mental wise. If he was in bad shape, he would of retired long time ago. He's playing for a championship-contending team next year, if not with the Lakers BOOK IT

I would like to see Malone win a championship, but, I don't think he will. He knows he just lost his best chance and another chance like the one he just had will be very hard to come by. So, I think that he should just retire, because, if not, he might look like he's desparate. Granted he can still play, but, 40 years old? It might just hurt his rep and people might look down on him after he's retired. I think he should just retire. He's had a great career, too bad he couldn't add a ring onto it.
