So what do you guys and girls think about the decision of keeping lawrence frank here? I like that there is a fresh new coach in the nba that could added new life to this time like when byron was here. Cause he can only get better. But I'll take that backit could get worse.
No shock here, he handle himself very well after taking over for B.scott, he probably got the most out of this beat up Nets squad that he could get this year(taking the eventual world champs to 7 games with Kidd not being 100%). But next season is really going to be his true test, because the Nets have got to get back to the Eastern Conference mountain top. And inorder to do so, the Nets are going to have to put together a strong regular season to insure homecourt advantage against the likes of the Pistons & Pacers(as proven we need against those teams from now on seeng that we lost 3 out of 4 games played in Detriot in the playoffs) . So the pressure will be Franks from the start of next season.
Speaking of home court advantage i would love to see the nets have home court advantage through the whole playoffs even in the finals.
this doesn't come as a suprise to me either. there is no reason not to bring him back next year. the only thing im a little worried about is that he doesn't have head coaching experience, just like byron. i would kind of like a coach who can teach our guys and coach at the same time. i think if you get a teacher of the game to be the coach, your team and can improve in more ways. i would just like to see us try and get pat riley. iknow he is involved with miami now and maybe the lakers will contact him, but he is personally one of my fav coaches and you know he will most likely be a coach again, so i hope that could be with us. frank has some proving to do this coming year. he will have his own offseason, own training camp and his own team to start the 82 game season and playoffs. be interesting how he handles a full season of injuries (hopefully not again like this past yr) and what happens when things dont go right. im sure he will do fine b/c he has a good head on his shoulders and is no basketball dummie. so congrats to coach frank, he deserves it because he is loyal and only wants the best for his players. players/team comes first and he doesn't want to take any of the credit, gotta love that in a coach.
thats is y is still wish we had byron scott. Cause he is a player that knows what other players are thinking. Maurice Cheeks would be nice to have or bring back chuck daly. But I would have really loved to see Jeff Van Gundy defense oriented coach. But i would really love to see Patrick Ewing be a couch for the nets. Cause this guys is a leader even though he never won a championship. wrong era to be in with jordan and hakeem. I think he can bring a alot to the table he had great coach pat riley, did assistant coach with orlando and washington, and is with jeff van gundy in houston
He cleaned up well after Scott left, he has a pretty good rotation. What I like most about him is his form of firing his players up, he's good enough to get Collins and Rodgers to do their best for "him". Got to give a man props that way. Not to mention his lineup and form of giving minutes and his rotation, it's above average. He has some real smarts on him, he knows basketball, he seems a lot more understanding and compassionate than Scott, he's no Doc Rivers mind you, but he sure as hell seems nicer than Scott was. I look forward to seeing what he can do whilst having the Nets for the full season.
