<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Heard that a Francis, Mobley, and Cato for McGrady and Howard has been agreed upon, and will be announced on Tuesday. First thing I thought was, WOW! Can't say I'm not disappointed, but I'll still be a Rocket fan, I'll wish Francis the best and hope McGrady changes. One thing that has me doubting this, besides the fact that I haven't heard anything about it in a real media outlet, is that I'm not sure if trades can be announced so quickly after the Finals end. Does anyone know when trades can be announced?</div>Link Do you Magic fans think this is possible? If it is, what are your opinions on it? To me, you guys win in this trade, hands down. You get one of the most dynamic backcourts in the league, with both of these guards being able to drop 20 on any given night. In Cato, you get a player in the post that could allow you to play your first pick overall at the PF spot, be it Okafor or Howard.
We get the better of the deal if you ask me. I like the trade. We get a leader in Steve francis and alot of better players to center around. Great trade IMO.
are you sure this is 100% certain? then wow The Magic win this won. But I just seem to wonder, TMac and Yao? that'll be sweet, but can they co-exist especially with Yao improving every year he will get and need more touches down low. Let's face it, sooner or later, this will be/already IS Yao's team. If all works out I am seeing a very bright future for Houston. Now orlando will get Cuttino, francis and Cato which is just amazing. Now you got Francis and Cuttino at the backcourt with Stevenson possibly at the 3 with a now-deep bench. Not to mention that Shaq might come there and the 1st pick in the draft. the trade might go well for both teams.
Well, the source, essentially, comes from this quote. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I have a cousin in Orlando that asked me if Houston TV has announced it yet, because he heard a radio station over there say that it's all done, just needs to get announced. Anyone who listens to talk radio should know that it's usually all talk, we'll see...</div> If you do not trust this, don't. I'm personally thinking and hoping this is not real.
The trade actually gave Orlando what they needed. A defencive big man, a point guard and Cuttino to just help out. I think the whole T-Mac, Yao scenario may end up sort of like Kobe, Shaq. I'd like to see how the team would work out... But I am pretty sure the guy is just guessing or his cousin is bulling...
Even though I don't want to see t-mac go for anyone. I'm happy for t-mac that he will get his chance to play with a elite bigman. He will still remain my fav player and the rockets would automatically become my 2nd fav team. since I don't have one. I do agree that the magic will be a better team if this deal goes through.I love that we get a good c in cato who could be a defensive monster in the east.Getting cato would allow us to draft howard and play him pf. It would be great if we could trade gooden and a future pick for a lottery pick this year and draft a swingman like iguodala or a pg because I still don't like lue even as a backup.
Wow if this trade goes down I will devestated! It seems like both teams can get better of this trade but I see the Magic improving more because I dont know how T-Mac and Yao will work but if Francis can lead his team in the West he can do it in the East.Man now all T-Macs shoes will be red!!!!!!!!
I believe this trade is beutiful for both teams. I also think T-mac will be fine letting yao touch the ball either by rebounds or assits. i also believe Yao ming and Tracy mcgrady could compliment each other very well. I dont know if they'll be another Kobe, Shaq duo but i bet they'll be sweet. the only question i have now is, are the Magic still going to try to lure shaq? Because i believe if they do. With Francis, Mobley, Cato, Gooden, and shaq on one team; those guys could cause some havoc in the east. o
dude... no way can the Magic get Shaq AFTER getting all those players... 1. Shaq MUST BE traded this offseason 2. Shaq's contract is too much for the Magic to afford after getting those players (Grant Hill's contract is what makes not being able to afford Shaq possible... Hill has just too huge a contract) 3. LA will want a little somethin' called, "compensation"... I don't think LA will take just ANYONE for Shaq (meaning no DeClerq, you Magic hopefuls)
Sorry, but I'm not gonna believe a guy who says, "his cousin said" it is. Unless it's from a credible source I won't believe it. You'd think ESPN or CBS would report this ahead of a guy's cousin.
How would the radio peeps know about the trade anyway... Probably just misread an article or something... And on the Shaq deal, chances of it happening are slim at best. The only way that I think we could get him is to sign Shaq from the agency, but that'll take some time...
Actually i think this stems from the Houstons chronicle report that the Rockets have taken the inside track in trade talks and that a deal could be done by webnesday. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2637378 Scroll down abit
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TimFlem:</div><div class="quote_post">We get the better of the deal if you ask me. I like the trade. We get a leader in Steve francis and alot of better players to center around. Great trade IMO.</div> I thought the exact same thing not only do we get two possible all star players to play in our back court for the price of one. We also get rid of howards huge contract from our cap allowing us to make some big signings this off season. The rockets dont get a pretty bad deal either they get the counter version to the shaq kobe duo if they stay together. With the tmac yao duo. Dont no how yao will feel about this trade though since him and francis had a great relationship since he came into the league.
Hell yeah man. I really hope this goes down. I'm loving this deal. Our biggest needs was pg and center and we accomplish both here, while getting rid of Juwan! We also get a very nice replacement in Tmac(big downgrade, but still a good player)
Man, if we get Francis(which it looks will happen) I'm gonna hate it. Francis is a cancer and will complain just as much as T-Mac did. Plus, I don't think he'll ever win a Championship. He's always been about the stats. I hope I'm wrong and he changes his ways. I doubt it though. I know one thing, I definitely won't be buying a Franchise jersey anytime soon. I'm not a big fan of Cato either. He's a solid back-up center. He's no starter. Also, does Gooden come off the bench? He'd probably bolt if that happened. It's not a bad line-up though: C-Cato PF-Okafor SF-Hill SG-Mobley PG-Francis Gooden, Garrity, Bogans, Stevenson(if Bobcats don't take him), Declerque
At this point, I hope we draft Howard. Gooden then can start... PG: Francis SG: Mobley SF: D.Howard PF: Gooden C: Cato We'd then have Hill, a not so former all star coming off the bench. At least until he gets back in the game... Then there the rest of Magic's last year's starters from last year. We'd be deep as hell...
