Well not exactly, but I was wondering what you people think about this trade.

The Magic will have to ship enough of their salaries to L.A. to match the $27.7 million Shaq is slated to make next season. So here's the deal: The Magic send T-Mac ($14.4 million), Juwan Howard ($5.9 million), the No. 1 draft pick ($4 million) and Pat Garrity ($3 million) to the Lakers.

and imagine if Grant Hill comes back next year. Grant Hill and Shaq would be a cool duo. If Grant Hill can't play next year, then he would most likely retire leaving us enough cap room to sign another talented player.

Don't you think that the Magic are giving up a little too much for Shaq in this deal?

I mean your best player Tracy McGrady, Howard, Garrity AND the #1 pick only for an aging Shaq who makes like 30 million 2 seasons from this one.

The Magic line-up would be terrible, I don't think that the GM of the Magic would do this trade and risk another 4-78 season. <---- just a little over-exaggerating [IMG]

First of all.. I am not so sure including T-Mac in this deal is going to work.. No doubt he is going to get traded, but I highly doubt that he is going to get traded in this deal if it happens..

I think the only way this type of deal can go down.. If we package Andrew Delclerqs stupid salary or Pat Garritys.. Juwan Howard deffinatly... And... Grant Hill..

I don't think for a minute LA is ready to take Grant Hill, and with LA Trading Shaq, don't you think that means that the intend on actually keeping Kobe Bryant? The reason I said I don't think T-Mac will work in this trade.. Thats why you have to give them someone with the same salary or two people who equal.. Grant Hill has the same salary.. But does anyone actually think LA will take Grant Hill unless they have cold hard facts that he will play more than 10 games next season OR they could get him to take his contract and go home?

I am not Shaq's biggest fan, mainly because he plays for Los Angeles. But I wouldn't have a problem with the Big Guy coming back to Orlando, it would be great for the Franchise...

I just don't see it happening..

Man thats way to much for Shaq, shoot think about the Lakers team if this trade went down.
    pg-GP or Fisher (probally)
    sg-Kobe(maybe)
    sf-T-Mac
    pf-Karl Malone
    c-Juan Howard
plus Dwight Howard or Emeka Okafor!!!!!!

This deal would be plain stupid for the Magic.

The Magic would be even more stupid to do this deal. I mean even if Tracy is going to leave why do this? That's like giving the Lakers a ring and giving the Magic a 5th grader. That would be just stupid.

I don't know, I'd do that trade. The O-Rena would sellout EVERY game if Shaq came back. Guaranteed. And I also think we'd be IMMEDIATE contenders with him. He's the most dominant player in the NBA and was the ONLY player who showed up for the Lakers in the Finals.

    Potential Line-up:

    C-Shaq
    PF-Gooden
    SF-Bogans
    SG-Stevenson
    PG-Hill

I don't know, I think that Line-up is good enough to be at least #3 in the East. And if Hillis back and playing above average I think we can contend with the Pistons.

Plus, I still have my Orlando Shaq jersey so I'd LOVE to start wearing it again.

i dont know, the lakers would be getting alot, and o-town wouldn't be getting much, but i voiced my opinion before about shaq coming back, i want him to. I wanted him to come back and have the Shaq/T-mac duo. But its looking like that wont happen.

What about a 3-team deal? I was reading Mark Stein's ESPN column just now and he said that's probably the only possibility Shaq would be able to return.

Shaq would go back home, T-Mac would go elsewhere, and the 2 other teams would give the Lakers what they needed.(e.g-Howard, #1 pick, Harrington/Francis/Marion) Makes sense to me.

I'd like to keep Garrity somehow as he's our only 3pt threat and he could play SF for this year.

I'm an optimist but I wouldn't miss T-Mac one bit if we had this line-up:

    C-Shaq
    PF-Gooden
    SF-Garrity
    SG-Stevenson
    PG-Hill

How many of us Magic fans WOULDN'T go to a Magic game if we had that squad? I know I would. I'd somehow try to make that deal if I was Weisbord but I guess I'm in the minority.

If Shaq ends up in Orlando, Garrity will become a great threat to teams.
It will be like Shaq, 3D duo again...

But I would like the team to hang on to the 1st pick...

IF Tmac goes to Houston they're going to get Francis and some other player. They can then send Francis, Hill, Howards, and whoever and try go get Shaq.

I wouldn't send Hill. Let's give a Shaq to win this year. He'd be surrounded by scrubs. [IMG]

Personally I like the trade they are tring to work out with the rockets better. If shaq came to orlando it would give us a big boast, but he is 32 and wants 62 million dollars after next season. While we could get francis a great point guard imo who can only get better and mobley a very talented three point shooter.

Plus we would only have to give up Howard and tmac. Then you could draft okafor to play with francis and mobley and you have a pretty talented team. Personally I think howard should be the guy we pick in the draft imo. Sinc ehe could play the 5 which is a position we lack and we could keep gooden at the power forward slot it would make sence.
