<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With the Tracy McGrady trading season officially under way, several league sources said the Rockets have emerged as the front-runner to land the NBA scoring champion and that a deal could be done by Wednesday. Though players involved could change in a variety of ways before a deal is completed, any Rockets trade for McGrady, due $14.4 million next season, would have to include the Rockets' three-time All-Star and former co-rookie of the year Steve Francis."</div> Full Story.
I actually hope this trade goes down, because I'd really like to see the young duo of Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. If Shaq does end up being a Laker again next season (which I think he will) the Yao vs. Shaq matchup will be much more interesting because it'll now also be the Kobe vs. McGrady matchup at the same time. This would be great for the league IMO, and I hope it happens.

ROFL you just want mcgrady to be in Houston just becuase you want to see the Yao vs Shaq and Kobe vs Mcgrady matchup? The Magic are going to look for what is in THEIR best interest...not yours. Sorry.
Also, it sas Steve Francis will be included... Not just Steve alone people, c'mon interpret it the right way... Steve for T-Mac straight up will never happen!
I would love to see francis in a magic's uniform he is by far my favorite point guard in the nba like I have said before. What I have heard around this very site is that Cato, francis, and mobley to orlando for tmac and howard. This trade would be wonderful for the magics they would get a all starpoint guard that can score and pass, a more than decent shooting guard. Those two alone would more than make up for tmac's scoring then they also get cato. Who I believe has been to the rockets what charles oakly was to the knicks are hard nosed guy that doesnt let anything in the paint go by free. Also the magic would have there first overall pick still possible bringing either howard or okafor to the team. If this trade goes down imo after the pistons the magic would be my favorites out of the east. They are getting 3 great new players 2 of which are possible all stars in francis and mobley. Then they also get a first overall selection all this basically just for tmac great deal ! imo.

Houston would have to cough up more than Steve Francis in order to land a player the caliber of Tracy McGrady. Houston will most likely have to give up one or two other players, a future first rounder, and additional cash. That might work, we'll have to wait and see.
This would be good if Shaq was able to become a Magic as well. At least your PG problems would be semi-solved if this was to happen. Though to get Shaq in the first place, you'd have to trade TMac.
Please . Houston trade Francis for McGrady ? I doubt that trade will ever go down .. Steve Francis isn't going anywhere anytime soon . But if the trade does happen , I think the Rockets will be okay with everything . They might do a little better then what they're doing now .. But hey you never know .
I think it can happen, i heard in a show that Mcgrady will opt out and they will trade t-mac for francis, they even said t-mac wants to go to houston.
I don't think the Magic should do that, they could do a lot better. Plus, I don't know if it would work for Houston because they are trying to build that franchise around Yao, and that would really mess that plan up. They already had problems this year with getting him the ball with Francis there, and considering that TMac demands twice the amount of touches as Francis, it wouldn't work. I think they need to continue looking anyways before doing this.

Sorry.</div> Well I'm not the one bringing up this trade rumor, but if it is possible I'd love to see it happen. I don't give a damn if Orlando can get much more elsewhere, because I really don't care what happens to the Magic. This rumor has been going on for days in the media so I'm obviously not the only one who is interested in this. For obvious competition interest I'd love to see that happen, and I'm sure a lot of other people would like to see that matchup as well. Is there a problem with that? No. I think the Magic probably find a better deal out there, but they've been known to do stupid things so you never know. Sorry if you were under the impression that I thought this was a good deal for both teams, but like I said I could care less about what happened to either one of these teams.
This trade would stir up a lot of controversy and it would go down as one of the craziest in history. Yao and McGrady is unimaginable. I think Francis, Okafor or Howard, and Cuttino or Cato would have a bad chemistry. I honestly don't think that would function. I see this trade in favour of the Rockets by a mile.
Unfortunately they cant afford Shaq, otherwise the mcgrady shaq duo would maybe be kind of fun to watch. Also did the magics say they absolutely wanne keep Tracy as a center, they should play their game around him. Im not sure about anything now. I dont think Magic is gonna trade tracy, but for example okafor, howard or some small players if they could get francis. I personally dont care where Francis is gonna be next year, at Rockets - why not? At magic - can't really imagine, but Tracy Yao wouldnt be bad for the Rockets. Althou for me its kind a unimaginable too. I mean, these are kind of two completely different calibers and types of players arent they? well see ...
This deal is the best deal they will get for Mcgrady, when you trade a superstar you never get full value back.Considering T-mac would walk at the end of next season getting two scorers and a very good defensive player is exactly what Orlando need. They are weak at all the positions that they are trading for (apart from SG)
I don't like this deal, and unless bobcats draft one of the players its going down from what i have heard. I personally don't think McGrady is as good of fit for houston as others could be. The whole individual mentality on the magic is a bit too much for houston. Atleast next season is shaping up to be an intersting one.
I can't tell if this deal is any good or not. Is McGrady to selfish for Yao? Will Yao get the ball enough? Certianly it makes the rockets better, but will it make Yao better? Perhaps it will leave Yao a little less gaurded and won't have to face many double teams. It's not good for the Magic. Steve's good, but he's not McGrady. I don't think he can carry a team like McGrady could or did.
