Passing on Kris Humphries will be awfully tough, but we?ve been hearing for weeks that the Seattle front office is fearful of heads rolling if they don?t make the playoffs this year. If they stand pat, they will take the player that can help them out the most this year. Look for Seattle to try and trade down as they?ve been working the phones diligently lately looking for an exit out of here. Would they settle for the #22 and 23 picks from Portland instead? Who knows what they could get here.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">#21 Al Jefferson: This was the toughest call of them all. Jefferson has lottery size and talent, we have no doubt about it, and an upcoming article will explain why. The problem was that this is the way the mock worked out considering team needs, especially if Bickerstaff takes Gordon at #4 and the Jazz follow through on their promise to Araujo at 14. We stared at the mock for a good 15 minutes trying to figure out where he could land because we realize it makes little sense for him to drop this far. 12 is an option, but that defies everything we?ve heard about Seattle?s draft plans.</div>

I am confused. Are we rebuilding properly, or are we simply trying to stick plaster over our cracks and try and nab the 8th seed? I like Snyder over Jackson at this point because I see him in the Dez Mason mould - tough as nails, good defender, athletic and able to give a spark off the bench, but at the same time Luke seems to have more upside.

With the way things are panning out, if we took picks 22 and 23 from Portland we could feasibly grab Jefferson and maybe Kevin Martin or someone like that, but that's risky and if Araujo, Humphries and Jefferson go before 22, what do we do? David Harrison maybe, but he has a long way to go in terms of mindset and maturity.

Either we are a master of smokescreens, or management has as little idea what we're doing as I do myself.

I think there is an elaborate trade fix in place that will see Mengke Bateer assume the back-up quarterback role for the Green Bay Packers.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Another Oregon Duck heads north to Seattle? Could be. A year after selecting Luke Ridnour with the No. 14 pick in the draft, the Sonics may again return to the Eugene, Ore., pond and snare Jackson.

Originally considered a second-round prospect, his recent workouts have propelled him higher in the draft than many expected and possibly into the lottery.

If Josh Childress should somehow fall this far ? and that's highly unlikely ? then he would be a nice fit for the Sonics, who aren't expected to re-sign free agent Ansu Sesay and need a backup for Rashard Lewis.</div>

I watched the Live NBA Mock Draft by Andy Katz and Chad Ford on ESPN.com and this is what they had for the Sonics...

[IMG] ESPN.COM NBA MOCK DRAFT: (2:55 PM ET ) With the 12th pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, the Seattle Sonics select Al Jefferson.

[IMG]ESPN Insider Chad Ford: (2:55 PM ET ) This was a tough call. Sonics are trying to trade their pick. Could've also been Kirk Snyder or Rafael Araujo, but the word is that they're fond of Jefferson.

Casey San Diego: Why A. Jefferson and not Snyder at 12

[IMG]ESPN.com Senior Writer Andy Katz: (2:57 PM ET ) The Sonics do love Jefferson. They look at Jefferson as more of a face-up scorer than a back-to-the-basket scorer. Snyder is a possibility here but they still are stocked on the perimeter with Barry (for the time being) and Allen. </div> <a href="http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=5496" target="_blank">

^ That is the best news I've heard all week. Snyder and Jefferson are on top of my realistic draft board. While Snyder is the tough, defensive swingman we've been looking for, hisd upside is nothing compared to Jefferson, who I still think has been very much overlooked in this lottery.

One deal I had heard was the 12 to Boston for the 15 and the 25. This allows Boston to step up and nab Monya from Utah, and it's likely Jefferson is there at 15 still. Possibly even Snyder.

It sounds like they're going to pass on Humphries... [IMG]
