<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NY Post:</div><div class="quote_post">What if Kobe should defect to the Knicks? Nike, say sources, is prepared to double his $45 million contact should he be declared not guilty and winds up playing in New York</div>

    ^^^Good read.

Wow, in case the excpetion wasn't enough we got the Nike thing going for us. It'd be great to have Kobe......let's leave it at that... [IMG]

Even tho Peter Vecsey wrote the article, this does seem like something Nike would do. It would be much more profitable for them for Kobe to play with the Knicks then say the Clippers or any other team other than the Lakers. So why not make an offer that will help the profit of your business company. New York is the largest sneaker buying market in the US. So if Kobe was playing in NY, with a hot signature shoe,it would be a sneaker selling bonanza for Nike. Not that they dont already have one, but as we all know Nike loves to completely shut down the competion.

But Ultimately, I dont know if such an offer would influnence Kobe decision of were he would play. I think that decision will be decided by his family & home life. His family & home life is kind of iffy right now. And it would be a big adjustment picking them up & moving them from Cali all the way across country to the tri-state area.

This is true, Nike is going to clsoe to double Kobe's contract,

In the early talks of Kobe's contract with Nike it was being discussed that he could not play with other teams while signed with Nike. Although I'm not sure if thats part of his final contract or not.

This sounds like an interesting proposition for Kobe.

Kobe and starbury might go well together.

But the knicks still need some more help than just kobe.

Some inside presence would be Key.
