Francis, Mobley, and Cato for McGrady, will be announced after Expansion Draft... ESPN (Jim Gray) just reported it... Francis told agent he will NOT play in Orlando, that's why the deal wasn't announced sooner, the Rockets and Magic don't seem to care. WOW! I gotta be a McGrady fan now, well I won't defend his past, he WAS still a turd IMO, but now... Go T-Mac! Thoughts?
How serious can this trade be? There are still rumours that he is headed to LA for their second pick and Corey Maggette.
It's McGrady and Juwon Howard. This is depending on whether or not the Bobcats take Howard in the expansion draft, if they do then someone else is going to have to be worked out. The Magic are just making themselves worse with this deal. They're going to have an unhappy Francis who has begged for a third team to be involved so he won't have to go to Orlando. The last time Francis begged not to go somewhere was on draft day when Vancouver was involved and he got his way. That situation shuold be interesting. I just don't see how the Magic improve themselves with this deal. The Rockets on the other hand get McGrady and Ming, that should be an interesting duo. Another trade: Bobcats get the second pick and Drobsomething from the Clips in exchange for the fourth pick and thirty-third pick.
I don't have ESPN so I didn't see it. Why does Francis always whine about everyhting? He didn't want to play in Vancover,he doesn't want to play in Orlando...where the hell does he want to play?Maybe Orlando will trade Francis+Howard+someone else for Shaq?

Says that they are still shopping tmac so idk what to believe you got a link. Anyway I do hope this trade goes down francis is one of my favorite players and orlando my second favorite team after the wolves.
Jim Gray has reported it on ESPN Radio, ESPN isn't known for reporting rumors, that's why I give it a 99.99% chance that it is a done deal. However, some players that are available for the expansion draft are in the deal so if one of those guys are taken the deal would hit a snag.
Yeah I was just watching Sportscenter when they announced the likelihood of the deal. Dan Patrick just got done interviewing Stephen A. Smith about some offseason things then Jim Gray was on the phone with Dan Patrick right after saying that this deal most likely will go down. It just depends on if the Bobcats take Howard in the expansion draft.
I think Francis will get over it, he's not as immature as he once was when he was drafted by the Grizzlies, and he gets Mobley and Cato to go with him, all of them were close. I also see the lineup of Francis, Mobley, Gooden/Hill, Okafur, and Cato making the playoffs, at least 45 wins to boot, the Rockets success all depends on the dedication of McGrady.
Ya that's a hell of a deal for Orlando. With the first pick Orlando could have a chance to make the playoffs. By the way scratch Hill off of any list you may have kickin around, dude is done.

I dont see why Stevie is so mad. I think a line up like what Orlando might have looks pretty good IMO. pg-Franchise/Lue sg- Mobley sf-Grant Hill?/if not than Gooden pf-Dwight or Emeka? c-Cato I that team has potential to be a top team in the east. BTW if I were the Bobcats I would take Howard just to mess up this trade!
The one thing I think this changes is Orlando's strategy in the draft on Thursday. If the trade goes down, they'll most likely let Francis walk after next season when he becomes a FA. That means they'll be rebuilding and are more likely to take Howard and build for the future, rather than win now.
Wasn't there talk of Francis being a base year player and that he couldn't be traded before July 1st unless a third team was involved?

Good trade for both team imo the magic get three quality players for the price of one and get rid of howards huge contract.

They are dumping his contract on them for the pick. I hope this trade does go down. The funny thing is in the rumor mill when I said I wanted this to happen, some guy tried to bash me for it saying it wasn't in favor for Orlando. They were the ones asking for that trade (for Francis, Mobley and Cato.) We'll find out after the expension draft tomorrow I guess.
