The new 1-2 punch, no more Kobe-Shaq, but now, Tracy-Yao.

I think that this trade is just the beginning of a big offseason in the NBA. Shaq could be traded too, that would be another blockbuster trade.

Francis said he doesn't mind Orlando anymore, because his kids toured it and they liked it.

Both teams have good lineups on paper, but how will the trade go down in the locker room? Does Houston want a cry baby? [IMG]

Yeah but if you think about it, Juwan is trash and Lue isn't that great either. Who do the Rockets want as a PG? Please don't tell me Lue. Another thing =
Tracy McGrady ppg is probably less than Francis/Cuttino ppg. I really do think Orlando may of made out in this deal.

Weisbrod comes from a hockey background, which probably means he knows jack about the value and everything of a NBA trade so I have to say that this is such a steal for the Rockets. The Magic should of traded for someone like Paul Pierce who might replace McGrady in certain aspects, if not all. The Magic didn't replace McGrady at all. They're going to be a worse team and untill Francis and the crew bond a chemistry, then that's a different story. Despite this trade being a total rip off, the Magic are lucky they have 2005's RotY.

Thank you pgrudo. All the Juwan Howard hype?? Like Howard is going to finally play up to his potential instead of packing his bags like an everyday journeyman and change addresses every NBA season. Yes Houston, what excitement that Juwan Howard is arriving to your town and once again stinking up the arena every given night. [IMG]

I've been hearing all this talk about McGrady and Yao being the second coming of Shaq and Kobe. Fine, you can talk all the comparisons you want, but until Yao Ming can actually try and understand Ewing's english for a change, go to the weight room and put on some muscle, learn to be aggressive both offensively, defensively, and crash the boards without allowing people to stomp all over him is when one day in his young NBA career that he'll be a true dominant center. Nothing much to say about Tracy McGrady. He's one of the best shooting guards in the game, simply a prize for anybody's franchise.

Rockets have set their minds to Brent Barry, Derek Fisher and Troy Hudson as guys to run the point next year. So I don't think you will need to worry about Lue running their team

    One thing is offical though

T-mac has offically entered the Kobe world. Playing with a big man and not having to face the defensive pressure he did in Orlando. Maybe Kobe will find whats It's like to live in the Mcgrady world this year as well.

They get Cato who is a good inside presence that can score aswell. Who does the Rockets get? Tracy McGrady and trash. Don't give me the story that J. What are you talking about??? They have lots of chemistry, they have 3 starters that have been playing with eachother for more than 3 years and an amazing rookie coming into the organization, of course he needs to blend in, but he's a rookie!

I don't get your statement, this trade was not a total ripoff at all, the Rocket's didn't get the better end of the deal either! The Magic did!

Please inform me where you are getting this crazy idea from, and give me an explanation of your feelings... Please!

Juwan Howard has always been over-rated, he was even over-hyped in college. Not really what team it was but he signed the most ridiculous contract with I think Miami back in the day, he shouldn't have even made 25% of what that contract was worth. I can't even call him inconsistant because he never has a good game to follow up with another good game, haha. He should quit playing basketball and stick to tv commercials about helping kids read books.

How do you like that, Emo?

I couldn't agree with you more pgrudo00 that Juwan Howard is nothing but a pile of garbage. People always say he will have a breakout year and finally reach his potential, when he never even had potential, as you said he was over-hyped like Ivan Chiraev was, execpt he actually came into the NBA.

Howard still has some talent, but he is better off on a team like that has lots of depth where he will be the 10th man in the rotation because he doesn't deserve to start or be a 6th man. He never has good games anymore, and when those rare occasions come around the next game his head is bigger than the big apple and he sucks up a storm.

I don't know if the Rockets think they are getting a good player in Howard, and if they do, I'm afraid to say they are terribly mistaken!

Juwan Howard is not overrated as player at all, having a huge contract doesn't make you overrated. The guy is a career 17 and 8 guy. I'm sure many players who have passed through this league would settle for that. No matter what the situation he will do whats asked of him

He's produced from the word go, putting up 17 and 8 in his rookie season. He was never going to be a superstar but a very soild big man who had decent touch.

I'm glad I made a point here in which everyone agrees on, Thank guys.

Put it this way, as much as I hate Derrick Coleman. I still would rather have DC than JH because I know Coleman can consistantly put up double digits in pts. and 6-7 rbs a game, I just hate his work ethic.

Howard, Lue, and Gaines are garbage, but Cato is not good at all. If you're saying that Cato is better than the 3 fillers combined the Rockets received, then you're crazy. Therefore, McGrady for Francis and Mobley is basically the trade, which is a rip off for the Magic.

You undermind McGrady just as much as the Magic did when they pulled this trade. Francis, Mobley, and Cato combined are not in McGrady's league. If they are, since they played with the future's most dominant center and quality coaches in Rudy and Gundy, then why weren't they successful? Do you seriously think they would be more successful with Howard, a rookie scrub coach to go along with crap players?
How successful were Kobe and Shaq? Exactly, McGrady is the roughly the same caliber of Kobe, and Yao is approaching Shaq's level, and how many championships did they win? So what success would that bring to the Rockets?

Would you rather have a lineup of
    PG-Nelson
    SG-Francis
    SF-Gooden
    PF-D.Howard
    C-Cato
And Mobley as a 6th man or something like that it can vary or

    PG-Nelson
    SG-McGrady
    SF-Gooden
    PF-D.Howard
No Centre...or good 6th man unless you put the other Howard in.

I would take the first lineup, you are in the East and Cato can compete with Eastern centre's. Nelson 8 6 man, Francis 20 4 3 man, Gooden 10 7 man, Howard 12 7 man, Cato 8 8 man.

    Or

Nelson 8 6 man, McGrady 25 5 5 man, Gooden 10 7 man, Howard 12 7 man, and no centre. And I think the scoring of the players would go down with McGrady seeing he takes 100 shots a game.

I would much rather have 1 Franchise player, 1 quality starter, and a scoring/starting big man than one superstar scorer.

Yao didn't make the Rocket's that much better, he never even got the ball + they were in the west. And they were more successful than the Magic, they even made the playoffs in the West!

Kobe and Shaq are Hall of Famers, Yao hasn't even proven himself yet, and he won't be getting the ball much more with Selfish Tracy taking 30 shots a game again. Trust me, the Rocket's won't be winning championships very soon!

Because he has the contract that makes him expanable for big name players. Many players get traded many times in their career, doesn't make they are bad players. He is still a very soild player who will not whine to the media about the situation or playing time.

The prefect example was him not crying about being in Denver 2 years ago when he was traded from Dallas (a contender) to a team that won only 19 games. He just plays the game.

He puts up very good numbers in every situation he has been stuck in, wether It was with a very good team or a poor one. He is certainly not a leader or a guy you should build your team around but he is very soild who gets the job done. His real weakness is on the defensive end and that will never change.

You actually act like he was been traded Jimmy Jackson style

He spend 7 seasons in Washington, was then traded to Dallas, then traded by Dallas for Nick Van Exel and Raef Lefrentz and signed as FA by Orlando last summer.

His contract has high value, not as much now but he still is a prefect guy to package in a big deal.

Although I do worry about Cato being their starting center. That guy is not even an offensive threat, only plays defense when he feels like it just like what we witnessed in last years' loss to my Lakers in the Western Conference Quarterfinals. See, if the Orlando Magic drafted Emeka Okafor, they'd have a lineup of maybe something like this:

    PG: Francis
    SG: Mobley
    SF: Gooden
    PF: Garrity
    C: Okafor

Not bad of a lineup, but at least they'd have a big man to work with.

I wouldn't want to have Francis at the point, look what happened in Houston, do I hear someone saying tournover?

You have Nelson at the point and you can bring in Mobley like an Emanuel Ginobilo player, bring him in 3 minutes into the game, and at that point you can take out Nelson, and put Francis at the point.

I think that the Magic would like Cato at centre for the fact that he does play defense, some of the time, if we get him playing D all the time he will be a good role player for the Magic. You have lots of scoring threats in Francis Mobley and Gooden And Howard can score too, just not as easily.

Look at the Mavericks for example, all scorers no defenders, We don't want to end up like that, that's for sure.

I agree your lineup looks nice, but I don't see Okafor playing Centre well against Western teams, and Garrity isn't what he used to be IMO.

Ifs are nothing to live by.

The Magic did wonderful in getting rid of their high scorer.

They get in return two people that can damage you offensively and defensively equal to T mac.

Wich in return sets your team up to excell of one of the Guys ( Francis or
    Mobley) have a bad game.

As of Magic standing with T mac while he has bad games they dont have anything else to rely on.

All in all cant wait to see the Rockets next year and whatever else aquisitions thay make this offseason.

And one last thing Go magic. ( have you seen there rookies they drafted, and not to mention Francis, the cat and Cato. oh yeah they still have gooden dont they,
