He is a good three point shooter or at least was when he was with NY. He would provide us with a vetern that would give us another option at point if anyone should get injured. Though he didnt really impress me in his time with the spurs last season he barley played and when he did he didnt make an impact. I dont think we should perssue him unless we know troy aint coming back. Which I think he will come back because the front offese has gotten a message from KG saying to resign him. Also him and KG have a good relationship. He would give us more of a scoring option off the bench because last time he was healthy he had a break through performence against the lakers in the playoffs. So IDK it all depends if troy comes back. Also a reason I dont see us going for him is even if troy doesnt come back. We still got players like hoiberg and also martin (who I am hoping comes back and resigns) who can play that position. So it would provide us with some rotational difficulties since hoiberg and ward would both be vetern who want minutes in the lineup.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tahsmith:</div><div class="quote_post">too old</div> Remember, Rod Strickland actually did well when he was here. I don't know much about Ward's injury history, but if he can stay healthy, he may be useful. When he was in S.A., he didn't seem to fit to me, but they sought him out last season. Maybe he needs some electricity from his superstar to get him motivated.
Also....this could be good in a morality boosting sense. Old players generally have good analysis and knowledge of the game because of veterancy. He plays some pretty good D also, I'd rather we get Horry though. But I'm all for off the bench scorers who're great shooters. Now we have other options apart and amidst from Hoiberg and Wally.
are you serious kid you want derrick martin back?!!!! no no nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hell we might as well pick up cleaves at least cleaves can drive better then derrick

Of corse he is no cassel or superstar player by any means, but he does the little things that matter. Like taking a charge or making a open jumper he and there. He has good bball IQ imo and provides us with someone that is willing to do the little things that help our team win.
Charlie Ward is not to old,it just didnt fit into the Spurs offensive system. The Spurs run alot of pick & roll, where the point guard to do an overwhelming amount of play making for guys like Bowen, Hedu, Rasho, etc, guys who cant create their own shot. The Spurs were limited on playmakers, so they were expecting something out of Ward that he isnt. Ward is a simple piont guard, who will bing the ball up, wont do to much as far as playmaking. But still knows how to get the ball to players in the right spot. And will knock down the open shot when it comes to him at a pretty effiecent rate. He also has always has a solid assist to turnover rate. Something the wolves need really, because the Wolves turnover rate fromthe PG postion increases when both Hudson & Sammy are in the rotation together. Ward would be a solid choice to replace Hudson. He is exactly the type of PG the wolves need to back up Sammy. He is a simple pg, who wan try to do to much. And can settle things down when Sammy is on the bench. Ward is a complete contrast to Sam. And I think thats what the wolves need to back up Sam, somebody different. Hudson is a pretty similar shoot 1st pg as Sam
A veteran PG is a better backup than a young PG for a contending team. If we could somehow get the free agent Derek Fisher, he would be perfect, but he will want to start, so Ward may be the best option
