I'm neutral on this one. I do think that Cavs would benefit from this because they do need a Spot-Up shooter and they would get that from Wally. But I can't see Minn. benefiting that much from this, plus I think the fans really would be upset to see Wally part.

This is a nice trade for both teams. DWags will be a nice replacement for Troy Hudson, who is now a free agent. The TWolves also get a lottery pick, who should be able to replace Wally's role on the TWolves and cut cap space.

The Cavs finally rid themselves of DWags and can move on with creating the backcourt they want to use to surround LeBron James. Wally is the type of shooter the Cavs desperately need on their team. He can help spread the defense and create more room for LeBron to drive and dish. He's also a former college star for the state of Ohio, when he played for Miami of Ohio.

There is also speculation (New York Times) that the Pacers want the 10th pick, and would give up Al Harrington for it.

Like I said in the wolves board this is a great deal. We wont have another first round pick till 06 let alone a lottery pick to build our future with. Not only that but battie would fill our void at the 5 spot kandi just doesnt cut it, mad dogg is to short, and ervin to old, but Battie would be just right.

He is a good locker room presence part of the reason o brien left the celts ws because of ainges trading this guy. He can give you about 9 to 10 points a game. 7 to 10 rebounds if motivated. Not only that, but we get a great young spark off the bench in wagner. He averaged 16 points his rookie year. He does come with some bagage though as he always seems to be injured.
