Yup, Hunter is officially a Bobcat. Here's a link to all their drafted players http://www.nba.com/bobcats/expansion_selection_players.html
I'd have to say that if he can stay healthy, Charlotte got a steal in Fizer and I also think we're going to regret letting Hunter go.
When Fizer was picked, he was a restricted free agent, which in turn made him and unrestricted free agent, so the Cats do not hold Fizers rights...he is a free man

He would thrive in a running game.
Philjax: That would be fairly reasonable actually. Waltah was rumored to be part of a deal with Charlotte and that would make some sense. PS: My understanding of the Expansion draft rules is that Fizer's only a FA if the Cats cut him. Otherwise, he remains thier property.

Danny Ainge is making Scott Layden look like Jerry West. Not sure why he would let Brandon Hunter go so easily. The guy has talent and could of become a real good player in Boston. He is one of the guys the Bobcats will keep without a doubt.
Eh, I'm not so sure Hunter is really as good as he has been made out to be. He had a few MONSTER games mid-season, but they were against teams such as Orlando and Toronto. Also, he was such a surprise in the lineup, teams weren't sure how to guard him. Thus, he got insane amounts of rebounds in a couple games. Once other teams started learning what kind of player he was, his numbers went down quickly. Before long, he lost his starting job to Walter, and later disappeared from the rotation. However, He was a great 2nd round pick last year, and I am a little upset Charlotte took him.

Otherwise, he remains thier property.</div> Expansion Draft Rules..... Unrestricted free agents are ineligible for the expansion draft. Each team can protect up to eight players. If a team has less than eight players on its roster to protect, it still must leave a minimum of one player unprotected. The expandsion team must select a minimum of 14 players and can select a maximum of 29 players overall. The expansion team can select only one player from any one NBA team. The expansion team is not bound to the salary cap during the draft. They can take on as many contracts as they like. However, once the draft is over, any players they've drafted and keep will count toward their cap (it should come in at around $31 million). As long as the expansion team waives a player selected in the expansion draft before the first day of the regular season, the player's remaining contract does not count against the team's salary cap. Restricted free agents drafted in the expansion draft automatically become unrestricted free agents. Teams are allowed to entice the expansion team to select players by offering cash, draft picks or agreeing to additional trades in return. If a team has a player selected by the expansion team, the team receives a trade exception equal to the player's 2004-05 salary. This allows teams to replace a player lost in the expansion draft with another player of comparable salary.
Thanks for clearing that up 44. PS: The Celtics told me yesterday that Hunter most likely wouldn't have broke into the top 8 in the rotation, so they let him go so he could develop somewhere else. They felt he was mostly just backup material and with Perk ready to go and others coming via the draft, there was just no room for him.
