<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It appears the blockbuster done deal may not be so done after all. Just 24 hours after it was leaked that the Orlando Magic and the Houston Rockets had reached an agreement which would swap stars Tracy McGrady and Steve Francis, the New York Times is reporting that the deal may have it a snag. Steve Francis, the Rockets All-Star guard, had made public his displeasure about the potential trade to Orlando, leading to the Magic reconsidering the deal. Francis is under contract for several years and has no veto power over trades, meaning if traded to Orlando he'd have no choice but to play. This is why, according to the New York Times, several league executives and player agents were baffled by Orlando's hesitation. Looking elsewhere, the Magic entered into serious discussions with Phoenix yesterday, and the Suns are offering Shawn Marion, the up-and-coming Joe Johnson and this year's first-round pick (seventh over all), for McGrady. That would give Orlando an All-Star small forward in Marion, a potential All-Star shooting guard in Johnson and the first and seventh picks in tomorrow's draft. </div> link
It seems the feeling is, Mcgrady has stated he would not re-sign with Phoenix if they traded for him and he badly to go to Houston. Thats the only team thats placed an offer who he would sign long term to. Orlando are trying to find a taker for Francis, then this deal will go through.

I would take that deal If I was Orlando but If Mcgrady says he won't re-sign in Phoenix then I'm sure the Suns would back out. Looks like Mcgrady is controlling this deal more than Orlando's GM. Steve Francis is the reason this deal hasn't happened, I'm not sure why the Sonics want Steve Francis in the first place. Inside help should be the main option not trading Allen away for a PG in a shooting guard's body. I guess if the Magic add in Drew Gooden It wouldn't be so bad.
I don't think the trade with Phoenix will go down, because T-mac will not stay next year,T-mac wants to play with Yao and not back up starters like he did in Orlando. If the Suns want to trade why not trade with Houston they Trade Francis and Mobley for Marion and Johnson then thet dont have to worry about Steve complaining about who he wants to play for next year.

Overall, I feel that Orlando should stick with the original deal with Houston.
Francis to LA! Shaq to ORL and Tracy to HOU!!! I mean, why not! Just make it work somehow! This will be the biggest three way trade ever, no doubt! I can only wish! I've posted it several times here, and many of you have probably seen my trade proposal... Lakers get Francis, Gooden, and Pick. ORL gets Shaq and 2nd round pick. HOU gets T-Mac and Devean George. Well, maybe add a few no names here and there and you got yorself a deal!
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If the Suns want to trade why not trade with Houston they Trade Francis and Mobley for Marion and Johnson then thet dont have to worry about Steve complaining about who he wants to play for next year.</div> The Suns have been wanting Mcgrady for awhile now, not Francis. But I doubt the deal goes down. This is a similar offer that the Suns made to the magic at the trade deadline this past season except now they threw in the 7th pick. Iam not for sure that the 7th pick will now convience the magic to pull out the Rockets deal to do this deal. Due to the fact there probably isnt any most have players in the draft other than Okafor & Howard. The only way the Magic switch over to ths deal imo, is if they cant get a team to take Stevie Francis. But I doubt they wont find somebody, even if teams dont give the Magic a star player like say Ray Allen. They may get a few solid parts to help them rebuild. Me personally, I would take the PHX deal especally after the way Joe Johnson played after the Marbury trade. But then again, Joe Johnson has been such a hot & cold player in the league, you really dont know if that was a true sign of his potential. But the Magic/Rockets trade wont be official to July 1st, due to Fracis being a BYC player,so alot could happen from either side in over a week. From what Iam hearing the Magic front office is still begging Mcgrady to want to stay. Andkeeping Mcgrady has alway been their main option.
They should accept the PHX deal if given the chance. If Francis has no veto power, what's stopping them?
The Phoenix offer is too good to turn down. Now, if only we could somehow make T-Mac commit long-term to Phoenix. What's the reason for his infactuation with Houston anyways?
Man, that PHX deal would be awesome...if Livingston or Ben Gordon are still available..you have Livingston or Ben Gordon/T-Lue at the PG position then you have Joe Johnson and Stevenson then Shawn Marion and Bogans then Drew Gooden then Okafor? even Garrity and Hill if healthy off the bench? I like that PHX Deal..plus I would love to see Amare and T-Mac instead of Yao and T-Mac cuz I hate Yao and I love Amare(I went to his same H.S.) so..I would defenetly ask T-Mac to go there..gosh Amare is a good big man .. throw in Juwan Howard to play PF and Amare C..and add Garrity...I'll take it...but then Again T-Mac controls this... About Seattle..isn't Ray Allen a SG? I guess he'll have to play PG..if we have Mobley..but if we still have Gooden and Cato..and we are loaded at SF...where's Okafor or Dwight? Btw, I'm Okafor all the way.
Listen, its clear Francis is a baby, this is the 2nd time in his career hes done this, and hes what, 25? 26? Younger? Its pretty sad. But come on if the Suns are really offering that, then the Magic HAVE to take that trade.. their team would be mighty stacked. They might also fit a guy like Lue or another salary filler, like a Gooden, since the deal IS really a steal for the Magic. So lets say best case scenerio, the Suns get Gooden out of the deal, heres the potential lineups: Magic: C Emeka Okafor PF Juwan Howard SF Shawn Marion SG Joe Johnson PG Devin Harris/Ben Gordon/Shaun Livingston Suns: C Keon Clark PF Amare Stoutemire SF Stephen Jackson (Free Agency? Maybe another free agent pick-up.) SG Tracy McGrady PG Leandro Barbosa McGrady might not be impressed by just playing with Amare Stoutemire, so the Suns will go out and get a decent SF to go with the squad, Barbosa is an up and comer at PG, and Clark, if healthy, is a legit nasty force at Center. Gooden could also start at SF, but id expect him to come off the bench, and we're not even sure if he could be a salary filler. But the Suns squad looks pretty good. The Magic get Okafor, although hes an undesized C, and they keep Howard, who should help teach the young guys like Okafor, and Johnson a few things. That lineup looks solid to me, Marion IMO is a top 10 player in the NBA, and Johnson has huge potential. And if they can land Shaun Livingston in the draft, it could be a remake of Penny Hardaway. I really love that kids style, and I think that team would be a legit championship team in the East. I used to like Orlando in its Penny and Shaq days, but when T-Mac hit there from Toronto, I got bitter. But id love to see that Magic team go far with Marion and the bunch. Fun team to watch.
most of yall are wrong what the crap are yall thinkin. T mac is not going to go to the suns. He said he will go to houston. Suns are all right. If that is the case send tracy to philly for kenny thomas and snow for our 9th overall pick. That is what orlando needs to do.

Are you trying to say that the Houston deal is better for the Magic then the Suns? Or that the Sixers trade is anywhere near what the Suns are offering? You are sadly mistaking my friend. I can only hope you were joking.
The Phoenix offer has got to be appealing to the Magic. The team is trying to rebuild and with two top 7 picks, that'd be a nice way to start. Plus, Marion and Johnson are each young and talented. Marion is already an all star quality small forward and Johnson is only gettiing better. If I were the Magic I'd go for that. But, if TMac says he won't sign long-term with Phoenix, than it won't happen cause Phoenix will back out.

I dont think Francis would either.. Cato isnt much of an asset. We'd have no back court, and we just let a rival make their team better than ours (Phoenix). It's like inviting them to take our spot in the playoffs. It's not even the Rockets fault, it's Francis' and Mobley's crying. I dont know how they are "rebuilding" they got a back court, the can play Gooden at the 3, and Okafor/Howard at the 4. They need no star at C, so Cato fits right in.. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> most of yall are wrong what the crap are yall thinkin. Allen Iverson, because hes as stubborn as he is, wont paly second fiddle to McGrady. There's no way taht Philly can sign Iverson, Coleman, and McGrady. You'd be well over the Salary cap. I dont see the magic taking many PFs like Coleman. They alredy got Emeka or Howard locked up.<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Listen, its clear Francis is a baby, this is the 2nd time in his career hes done this, and hes what, 25? 26? I was skeptical about this trade, now I'm hopin it goes down, bcus without some sort of compensation, this could totally screw our season over.
What they should do.. is have a HUGE block buster trade involving the Lakers, Rockets, Suns, and Orlando lol that'd probably be too big of a block buster, but if something could work out between all of these teams that would be great. Orlando Recieves: Shaquille O'Neal Los Angeles Recieves: Shawn Marion, Francis Houston Recieves: Joe Johnson, Juwan Howard & the 7th pick Phoenix Recieves: Tracy McGrady Aside from the people in Houston maybe, everyone's happy!! lol nah I'm kinda tired here so I can't think of a legit deal that would work, but something in this context would be perfect IMO. Each team could get what they need, while not having to give up TOO much.
All Of You Are Wrong The Reason He(tmac) Wants To Go To Houston Is Tha Same Reason He Wanted To Play With Shaq... He Wants To Play With A Dominant Center... Nuff Said
