What they should do.. is have a HUGE block buster trade involving the Lakers, Rockets, Suns, and Orlando lol that'd probably be too big of a block buster, but if something could work out between all of these teams that would be great. Orlando Recieves: Shaquille O'Neal Los Angeles Recieves: Shawn Marion, Francis Houston Recieves: Joe Johnson, Juwan Howard & the 7th pick Phoenix Recieves: Tracy McGrady I'm sure other people have their own opinions on this little block buster I put together and I don't know how good it would work in terms of salaries matching up, but I could see something like this being very likely. All of the teams involved are getting some quality players back, and i can't see anything bad from any team's perspective. The Lakers would be giving up a lot of size, but in return they recieve very young and athletic players. Orlando can get Shaq back for the price of McGrady, Houston recieves Johnson, Howard and a pick for Francis. Phoenix isn't getting any kind of special deal here, they're basically just giving up what they offered to Orlando for T-Mac, which they would get. I like this blockbuster a lot, it's kind of just made up on my own, but whatcha think? EDIT: actually this wouldn't work unless the Suns are willing to take a gamble on waiting to see if they can resign T-Mac. It's a risk they probably won't be taking so I don't think a Phoenix trade would be likely afterall.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TwinTowers:</div><div class="quote_post">Kaillou how do the Magic get the three best point guards in the draft if they have 1st and 7th pick</div> One of the three best, not all three.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">The Phoenix offer is too good to turn down. Now, if only we could somehow make T-Mac commit long-term to Phoenix. What's the reason for his infactuation with Houston anyways?</div> well trip I really dont like the Pheonix trade at all from a Magic standpoint. I mean with the suns deal the Magic would be trading away a superstar for Marion who is a guy that plays better off the ball instead of with defenses set to stop him. From a team standpoint i think if the magic were to make this trade happen with The suns they would need a nother piece at gaurd badly. Lastly I believe Tracy is infactuated with Houston because of all the potential that yao has.
orlando with 1st AND 7th pick? marion, johnson?! wow. it might not be possible but if it were done, orlando is a definite top 3 team in the east, with detroit and indiana, assuming indy keeps all their players (rumor has it harrington might go to bulls...see bulls thread).

The Sun should stop degrading Joe Johnson like that. What if he becomes a superstar as a Magic? What if the pick forms the 1-2 punch? They shouldn't even do any trades involving Joe this off-season, because I think he is their backbone. I would prefer the original Rockets-Magic trade anyday. I thought the Suns were so desperate for Kobe, so why are they feuding McGrady? Were McBryant both more productive in their 3rd season than Joe Johnson in his 3rd season? No. Did the Raptors and Lakers both put McBryant on the market due to not being productive? No. Sometimes, history doesn't mean jack. But the Suns need to consider what the Raptors and Lakers did with McBryant and retain Joe.

The Suns offer does NOT include Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudamire is also, obsiously, out of the question... Their offer is Marion, Jacodson, 7th pick...
im likeing the idea of the four way trade w/ la,hou, phx, orl. But hey, thats just me, if they could make it work, i would do it then. They all would be getting great players
I'd definitely go with the Phoenix trade instead of the Rockets. I just wouldn't want a player like Fransic who seems like he is always crying and complaining.
I say, the three teams (Phoenix, Orlando, and Houston) should make a blockbuster three team trade. This way, everyone may have every player that they would want. Who knows. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting pgrudo00:</div><div class="quote_post">I'd definitely go with the Phoenix trade instead of the Rockets. When he was drafted by Vancouver way back, I remember he demanded a trade cause he would never play a single game in Vancouver. Somebody lend him a diaper.
Phoenix is no longer in the race for T-Mac. They traded away the #7 pick earlier today, thus ending their chances at continuing talks with the Magic. Orlando wanted the #7 pick in any type of deal they made with Phoenix. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2004/co...tory?id=1827142
The magic GM was just on espn and said they are in discussion with the lakers as well as houston in a trade possibility for tmac. Shaq a magic? Still possible also another reason this trade has hit a snag is that mobely also does not want to play in orlando. To players in your starting back court that dont want to be there wouldnt work. Hoepfully they trade for shaq and also get hill's contract involved in the deal to get rid of that. Not sure if this deal would work, but how about tmac and hill to the lakers for shaq, rush, and cook.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2004/co...tory?id=1827142 Suns trade their #7 pick to Chicago... good news for Rockets fans!!
we'll it looks like rockets might just win the t-mac sweepstakes..... at first i didnt want this deal to happen.. but.. now it has to happen for the rockets to be a title contender.
I believe that if LA is actually involved in ANY discussions with Orlando and Houston it will be because of Francis. I could see a three-way deal happening that sends Steve to LA and T-Mac still coming to Houston, only problem with Shaq in the deal is the Magic would have to give up like 6 players to make all those salaries work right?
I don't think Hill will have any involvment in these trades, simply because I don't think the Lakers want to deal with a contract of nearly 30 million over the next two years when the guy doesn't even play. The Lakers don't want to take on any more bad contracts, and as much as I like Hill I wouldn't even bother to look at a trade involving him. If we were to ever take any bad contracts at all in the process of trading Shaq, I think we'd atleast go for guys who can play a whole season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kaillou:</div><div class="quote_post">Listen, its clear Francis is a baby, this is the 2nd time in his career hes done this, and hes what, 25? 26? Younger? Its pretty sad. But come on if the Suns are really offering that, then the Magic HAVE to take that trade.. their team would be mighty stacked. They might also fit a guy like Lue or another salary filler, like a Gooden, since the deal IS really a steal for the Magic. So lets say best case scenerio, the Suns get Gooden out of the deal, heres the potential lineups: Magic: C Emeka Okafor PF Juwan Howard SF Shawn Marion SG Joe Johnson PG Devin Harris/Ben Gordon/Shaun Livingston Suns: C Keon Clark PF Amare Stoutemire SF Stephen Jackson (Free Agency? Maybe another free agent pick-up.) SG Tracy McGrady PG Leandro Barbosa McGrady might not be impressed by just playing with Amare Stoutemire, so the Suns will go out and get a decent SF to go with the squad, Barbosa is an up and comer at PG, and Clark, if healthy, is a legit nasty force at Center. Gooden could also start at SF, but id expect him to come off the bench, and we're not even sure if he could be a salary filler. But the Suns squad looks pretty good. The Magic get Okafor, although hes an undesized C, and they keep Howard, who should help teach the young guys like Okafor, and Johnson a few things. That lineup looks solid to me, Marion IMO is a top 10 player in the NBA, and Johnson has huge potential. And if they can land Shaun Livingston in the draft, it could be a remake of Penny Hardaway. I really love that kids style, and I think that team would be a legit championship team in the East. I used to like Orlando in its Penny and Shaq days, but when T-Mac hit there from Toronto, I got bitter. But id love to see that Magic team go far with Marion and the bunch. Fun team to watch.</div> I really think Stephen Jackson is going back to San Antonio, but those look like some awesome teams that are going to be contenders next year if the deal goes through.
suns deal will never happen... Marion for TMAC, ya...no way they throw in Joe Johnson...he's a budding star in the making...
