Sebastain most likely isn't going to be in MSG tomorrow night at the draft. Why? Probably because he is way over hyped and he probably realized after the workouts that he should have not entered the draft and should have been going to college for 1-2 years. He doesn't want the camera on him while sitting at his table waiting and pleaing for his name to be called in the late 1st round. Anyone agree? Here is the article : http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2004/co...andy&id=1826337
I don't think it should be that big of a deal, if I ever end up in the NBA draft I probably wont like the camera on me, but theyr'e gonna be on you, just gotta deal with it someway, just pretend it isn't there.
Well it makes sense - he doesn't want to sit there while everyone else is getting called up except him. However, he's a Brooklyn native and the fans want to see him. They really don't care how high he goes - they just want to see one of their favorite players.
I dont think thats the reason like originally stated. He will go either to portland with there first pick in the draft or at 22. He is not showing up to the draft because since he lives in new york he doesnt really have all the excitment of going to MSG like most guys do. He can just sit at his house and chill waiting for his name to be called. Also he doesnt want to be like lampe was last year a guy torchered for hours waiting to here his name.

HMMMM, I would want to be there.

Not all people think alike just because if you were him you would want to be there doesnt mean he wants to be there. He will still be selected probable in the first round. He still has a huge shoe deal with adidas. He will still be in the NBA next year. Its not a big deal he is not at MSG.
This is going to be one of the biggest moments in your life. Why would you not show up. I agree completely with what pgrudo00 said. Who do you think will take Telfair? Do you guys think he will turn out or fizzle out of the nba. I think he should have went to college I think every player should go to college. You learn team concept in college. Thats something some players don't learn in high school and it looks like T-mac never learned it, and some of these of players who came out of high school.

Well, he went 13 to Portland, this is a big surprise to me. We will see what happens. I don't think he's worth the shoe deal with addidas. Apparently he wants invited to be at MSG but he could have still shown up. Thanks for the compliment pgrudo00!
Well, looks like Telfair made the thread starter look pretty dumb. He went at 13, and I think he has the tools to be a great PG in the league.

All the tools to be a great PG? No he doesn't. I've said this in another thread, at best he's going to be another Damon Stoudamire, someone the Blazers have been trying to get rid of for a while. That's at best. If the Blazers chose to waste a thirteen pick on him then I wish the best of luck to developing Telfair.

But however, we can't really blame him for wanting to enter the draft in the first place. He wants to do so many things, have his family safe, improve their standards of living. It's his choice, he's his own man, he's free to do whatever he wants to do, that's the point of freedom and being a good decision maker. He has to have his independence. Plus about his game, he's pretty fast and has great overall awareness and quickness. He's still young, he can grow. In terms of height that is.

Dont get me wrong, I thought if they wanted him so bad, the Blazers could have waited to pick him, when they could have gotten a proven player at 13. I may be wrong, and the Blazers could end up looking like they did the right thing down the road if the kid shows up. But as of right now......eh.
