Who would you pick @ 25, Micheal Jordan or Kobe Bryant?

Well, @ 25, i'll go with Kobe Bryant. Kobe's a strong good all around player, and has a good future ahead of him. Plus when you need game winning shots Kobe will give them to you. No disrespect to M.J. [IMG]

At 25, i'd take MJ. At 25, he put up one of the best stat lines ever, 32.5ppg, 8rpg, 8apg. In the prior 2 season, he averaged 37ppg, and 35ppg. He was also defensive player of the year at 25 and won his first MVP and had 3 of his 10 scoring titles under his belt.

I would pick Kobe Bryant because he can create his own shots. He makes the most difficult shots seem so easy. Also MJ didnt do everything by himself. He had Pippen-Harper-Rodman-Kerr. All Kobe has is Shaq.

Kobe was stone cold in the finals. Jordan never fell below 22 points in a play-off/finals game. Kobe spends every possession like he's trying to make the highlight reel. When he came up again real, solid defense he failed miserably. He's arrogant and greedy and has way too many off-court distractions.

    Jordan in a heartbeat.

Jordan created his shots better than anyone. Jordan didn't have Harper, Rodman, Kerr, and only had Pippen for 2 years when he was 25. Jordan had way less help than Kobe, and created better than Kobe. Jordan got to the rim whenever he wanted to, and however he wanted to.

There shouldn't even be a debate about this. It's pretty much a proven fact that Jordan is the greatest of all time.

HAVE you seen MJ play??? All those other players are nothing more than Kobe's other teammates. PLus, Shaq is probably worth all of those guys. MJ did everything Kobe does or, most often tries to do, with skill. He could do everything Kobe does , but much, much better.

Anyways, I pick MJ, not only that I'm a Bulls fan, but MJ has proven he can be THE MAN and lead his team to win a championship, even without a dominating inside presence. Kobe may be able to do that, but he hasn't proven it, plus i think it was the year that he averaged 30 8 and 8, and its hard to argue with that statline. [IMG]

They had this question on sportscenter a little while ago at 25 I would have taken kobe, but for career definitly jordan. At 25 kobe has 3 titles while jordan at 25 had 1 and would shortly after turning 25 gain his 2nd title. Also jordan didnt have as a complete game at 25 as kobe did. Alot of people look at this like a jordan kobe who is better comparison ut it is actually who was better at that age.

Everyone should remember that despitew the greatness that is MJ at the age of 25 he didnt have near the ability to make jumpers with a hand in his face as kobe did. Yes jordan could make big shots, but he couldnt make the jumper consistantly during the 48 minute stretch of a game. Later in his career he would definitly improve that.

Also kobe at the age of 25 has or would have had more experence then jordan at 25 considering he came out of high school. So he woul be more use to the nba game. Though I belive that kobe this year averaged 22 points obviously because he had to share the ball more. I think jordan was 25 in the 1987-88 season were he averaged 35 points. Also shooting .535 percent from the field. As well as playing all 82 games.

So there would be different situation that would affect who I would choose. If I was looking for a scorer that would shoot a good percentage and lead my team. Definitly jordan. If I was looking for a good jump shooter for the entire game at the age of 25 I would choose kobe.

wow. this thread is big joke. michael jordan doesnt give you game winning shots? at least michael jordan can feed his teamates on those rare occasions when hes not on. kobe is cold whenever hes doubled but still forces bad shots instead of feeding his dominating big man. thats why kobe cost the lakers the title. because hes a ball hog and a selfish basketball player.

    Agreed.
Jordan made one of the most famous clutch shots of all time, known as "The Shot". I don't care if its 25 or 35, I would pick Jordan at ANY time hands-down. To me there is no fair comparison between the two, except how Kobe tries to do his shots. Comparing the two is a slap in the face to MJ. As I have said before, Jordan can do anything Kobe can do, much, much better. Kobe's performance in this last season's Finals is the perfect example of what kind of player he really is. The only time he came out in that series was his lucky rainbow, and a pathetically over-publicized break-away dunk in Game 1. The rest of the time, he was a ball-hog and made very few shots. He has done nothing like Jordan, some may say that he already has 3 rings, but Shaq led the team to those , not him.

In conclusion, lets not compare Kobe and Jordan, it's disrespectful.

Well to me Jordan was unstopable most of the time.Everyone has seen how Kobe performed in the Finals when it mattered the most,if that was Jordan he would have lived up to his super stardom. So thats why I would take MJ.

I'd take Kobe because he's stronger. MJ is a bit more athletic, but Kobe's only weakness right now is the mind game. It's kinda funny...Kobe grew up watching MJ be the hero so much that he tries to force himself to be the hero, instead of letting it come naturally. Kobe seems to invite double teams. After he figures this out, though, I don't think there's anything stopping Kobe. He might need to get out of LA and go somewhere where he can just play basketball and not worry about the sideshows.

But, MJ was very skinny early in his career. He didn't bulk up until his late 20s.
