I am listening to neal hartmen on comcast sports net right now and he says that the cavs will most likely select jameer nelson at 10. He would be a nice fit with the cavs him and lebron would be a great back court. Jameer's dad says he wants him to go to clevland. The cavs have reported they really liked jameer in the nba draft work outs. So jameer in a cavs jersey? Very likely.
http://www.nba.com/draft2004/index.html Denver picked him at 20, then traded him to Orlando in return for a future first-round pick. Cleveland picked up Luke Jackson. The NBA calls him a forward, but the Cavaliers website calls him a swingman. Can someone clear up what exactly a swingman is? I thought it was a point-guard.
swingman generally refers to a guy who "swings" between the 2 and 3 positions - shooting guard and small forward, he can play either and isn't really a true sg, or a true sf you see a lot of these players nowadays in the nba many players are combos, pg and sg combo players like a dwayne wade or steve francis, sg and sf combo players (these are the ones usually called swingmen) like kobe and even lebron, a few sf and pf combo players like al harrington, and then your pf/c players like duncan or battie
Thanks for clearing that up. That's probably why he got described as both a guard and forward. Is Luke Jackson any good? I think Jameer Nelson would have been a good back-up to Jeff McInnis, and then they could have traded Kevin Ollie. I guess Luke Jackson could fill the scoring holes Cleveland have in the starting five, which is only one if everyone's fit - Shooting forward.

No one wants Ollie, or sorry Newble either, at their contracts. Not to mention that, while i liked Jameer, I don't think he'll be a NBA star, just a career backup. Someone already mentioned about his game earlier in the thread. LJax was the perfect fit for this team. I was thinking that both he and Childress would be off the board by 10. He can shoot, pass, play smart, and take it up strong. He is just a hard-nosed leader. I like the court vision and cut abillity from pg to sf on this team now. You don't put up the amazing kind of numbers he put up in the PAC10 if you're a scrub.
