Dwight Howard just went 1st. Anyone else surprised by this move from Orlando? I thought Okafor was easily #1, I was wrong.
I know, I am very surprised too, and with "washington's" pick it looks like Dallas is prepared to make a urn for Shaq
I'm not surprised by this move at all. I feel Dwight Howard is much more skillfull. Yes, Okafor's back was a little concern...but Howard proved to Orlando that he was the better fit. I think they should have picked Howard and was hoping they would...and they did. Okafor is a good shot blocker, but Howard is better on the offense...including his perimeter game. He is also taller than Emeka...so a good choice by Orlando Magic. Of course, Okafor's got the experience and the national championship..but look at Lebron with no experience and Carmelo with the experience.
and they get jameer nelson too, who i really didn't expect to fall to the #20 pick. Orlando got themselves two really good players. I wonder how they would use nelson if the tmac trade to houston goes through?
i heard that deal between t-mac and francis may not go through, according to magic's gm weisbrod. I heard there are other teams. Also depends if francis wants to go to orlando...steve will talk to the magic later this week i heard.
i was hoping that tmac would change his mind and stay in orlando, but now after our draft choice is howard tmac is definitely gone.
I was kinda surprised, but I also wasn't. Personally, I think Okafor DESERVED it more, but Howard probably fit Orlando's team needs better. I understand that Okafor's back was a concern, but im not sure it's really serious, and if they decided not to choose him due to the back, they were either being overly-cautious, or his back is worse than I thought. Anyways, i'm sure they had their reasons, they're the real basketball experts, not us.
yeah, i'm hoping t-mac will stay. i hate the rockets and yao ming and i just love how t-mac looks in magic's jersey. (No, i'm not gay! lol)

I thought that he was possibly the best point guard in the draft and I felt he was actually the only one who was going to go in there and produce immediately. I was hoping that Portland would have taken him, though I'm not a Portland fan, but, they took Telfair instead.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KS1:</div><div class="quote_post">No, they're scard of Emeka's back. They say its not fully healed and its a really big risk!</div> and I'm not to surprised about this. I think he might do a lil better then KG did his rookie season. But definately he isn't gonna come close to what Lebron did.
I was sure Orlando would pick Okafor. Even made a little bet on it . But hopefully Dwight will be able to contribute early and get better with time.
