Man this sucked, I know we filled all our needs, but with the right guys? I'm surprised Snyder fell so low, and that Rafael was gone. But why Pavel? I don't even...this guy is too raw, I mean yeah he's huge but dang. I hope we trade him. We passed up Monya, oh well.

I just read that we traded Pavel, so now we're stuck with Jarron Collins and Brochardt.

I thought Utah had some good picks, though I really would not of taken Humphries.

Why not? Humphries proved himself in college. Like they said on ESPN, he's a double double waiting to happen.

I think we did good with the draft. We, hopefully, filled our void at Power Forward for another 18 years [IMG] with Kris Humphries. Kirk Synder was probably the best player there at 16. I would of liked to of got Monya, but Pavel got us another first round pick from the Mavericks. So I give the Jazz a B in the draft.

Hell, Monya would have been a great pick.

One problem with Humphries which was mentioned, not a team player. Puts up good stats, but look at the Minnesota Gophers record from last year.

Overall, I thought Utah had a very nice draft.

The Jazz obviously were taking no chances with Kris Humphries, and I don't blame them. They needed a PF badly, and they got a good one. He should fit in well, but he will need to bulk up a bit because he will probably be starting for the majority of the season.
I like the Snyder pick a lot, he slipped and getting him at 16 should be a steal. He will replace Sasha, and I would rather him than Monya. The reason, Sasha was putting up better numbers in the Euroleague than him and was one year younger. At least that's what other Jazz fans I know are saying.
As for Podkolzine, the Jazz had stated they were willing to trade the #21 pick. I would of liked to see Podkolzine in Utah for a few seasons, there is a lot of potential in him being 7'5" and all. AK47 was a prokect when he came over to Utah, and look what happened to him. But Utah get a future first rounder out of it, which may turn out to be a good move. They need to sign a Centre during the offseason, or resign Ostertag. I think Okur would be a good fit.
Utah are starting to look like they will get back in the playoffs soon with the players they're adding.

Overall, I like our draft and there is no major flaw in it. They got what they needed in Humphries, got a potential sleeper in Snyder and managed to get a future first rounder in exchange for a potential bust. However they really need a Centre, and they didn't get one in the draft. There's always Free Agency. My grade, A-.

I really like the Synder pick, and i'm very glad that we got him. I've followed him since he beat a high school team I was helping coach at one time. I've read some reports that say he could step in and start for the Jazz, and before the draft I also heard he one of the top five guys out of the draft who they said may get the ROY next year. He can also defend well, which is always a plus.

Utah had arguably the best draft IMO. They got a solid player in Humphries, who immediately fills the void at PF, and allows the Jazz to shop Matt Harpring around. They got an absolute steal with Snyder, he has the complete package and should be able to start at SG next season. The Jazz have a lot of live bodies and athleticism on the court with AK, Snyder, and Humphries now in the starting lineup. Jerry Sloan is a great coach and he will make great basketball players out of these rookies, with his no nonsense attitude.

The areas the Jazz didn't fill in the draft, they can go after via free agency. They have plenty of money to spend, and I think adding a player like Snyder makes them more attractive to play for.

I would have also liked to see Pavel play for the Jazz. I'm sure he would bring back memories of Mark Eaton to the Jazz fans.

The thing with Humphries is, Jerry Sloan is a good coach, he will demad discipline and ball sharing from all of his players especially when they're not hitting they're shots(This year, he told AK-47 and Carlos Arroyo off). But yeah, I was very surprised Snyder fell so low. If we aquire two big guys in the free agency, we'll be good.
