How do you guys think the draft went, West/Allen will be great sparks off the bench, and Jefferson should start at PF...what do you think?

I like Jefferson, he was an absolute beast against the World All-Stars at the Nike Hoops Summit (I would have liked to see them somehow get their hands on Josh Smith). I hope West can play the point. I have no idea where they expect to get Allen minutes.

Well, in the Celtics chat room pool, I split the pot with one other person for getting the Jefferson pick correct. West and Allen were surprises to everyone, but IMO, still good picks.

The Celtics were pretty surprised about Seattle picking Robert Swift at the 12th spot and it was reported last night that Ainge is desperately trying to trade for Swift. However, I don't see the big deal about this guy and Jefferson could be a much better player than he is right now. I'm not so sure about Delonte West at the 24th spot. He might have trouble adjusting to the point and is too small to play shooting guard. He will turn out to be someone like Juan Dixon IMO.

Well the guy on espn said that if swift went to college for the year he probably would have been the #1 pick....I'm happy with Jefferson, West, and Allen, but my only concern is by the time Jefferson and Perkins develup, Pierce is gona be past his prime..

The Seattle talks are off and I can't say I'm that sorry about it. Swift was always a question mark to me anyways. Jefferson was #2 on out list and I'm fine with that.

I agree completely. I have yet to understand the hype over Swift, he looks like a less coordinated, less athletic version of LaFrentz.

Jefferson, at minimum will be a boarder/banger and interior presence which is a huge need. In fact,I see him contributing far more than Perkins a year ago. West to me is the key. I think he can be a PG in this league and be similar to a Mike Bibby. I like him a lot. Allen to me seems undersized at the 2 guard. He at worst will be a bench guy and a good defender. I loved him at Ok state though. He seems to be a tough player. One that when things get messy,he wants to fix it. Reed will be lucky to make the team.

Keep in mind that when people knock WEst and Allen for height that they both have longer wingspans than they should.

6'6" and 6'9" respectively. For Guards, that's adequate.

I really liked this draft, my only problem was with the Tony Allen pick. I think he'll become a good player, but unless Ainge is trading Pierce, Davis, or Welsch, there's no room for him to play. I really liked the Jefferson pick, I never wanted Swift, I never thought he was as good as Ainge had said he was. i'm hoping Rivers will give Jefferson a chance to play with Perkins.

The Celtics got a very good draft this year IMO, getting Al Jefferson, Delonte West and Tony Allen was great but the rumors of Swift coming in for Jefferson are perpostrous(sp?), I think Jefferson will be a Elton Brand/Kenyon Martin type player he is a decent athlete and is a banger. You have to find minutes for Allen because of his insane defense, I only saw Allen in 1 game and boy I gotta say did he ever have a first impression.

Dont be suprised at all if Reed makes the team. Doc has been lobbying for a big 3 since he got here and thats why they took him. Doc has come right out and said he wants PP at the 2, to save his body from the banging and extend his career. Reed is a big 3, that hits the glass and is not afraid to mix it up in the paint...he as of now, is a keeper

I like what u guys did. I saw West a lot this year he could be a really good player for u guys. In the mold of a Prince or something. Allen should be a good hardnosed player for u guys. As for the High School play who knows with them. Could be really good or really really bad.

I just wish they had used that second round pick to take one of the 7 footers that were still available. So WHAT if hes Korean? Ha seung jin is 7'3'' 300 pounds and 19 years old it was worth the gamble. were they really that sure that Justin REED is gonna turn into a player?

anybody know what "grade" the "experts" have been givin the celts for this draft? hook me up with a link
