Kevin Martin , Western Carolina. Junior SG Ranked 2nd nationally in scoring and led the Southern Confrence in scoring (24.9 ppg). 4th all time scoring in school history (1838 pts over 3 years) and has a career avarage of 23.3 ppg. Just a sde note, his there is some confusion on different websites as to his percentages. According to WCU, he shot 47% from the field and 33.5 from 3pt range, not bad numbers at all. He was on the local radio this afternoon shortly after being drafted and he sounds like a good prospect. He will be playing SG behind Christie and is known more for his offense than defense. One thing he did say on the radio, he is looking forward to playing behind Christie and learning to play that style of defense. Ricky Minard, Morehead State. Junior G Ohio Valley Confrence Player of the Year (02-03), two time first team confrence selection, Seventh overall on Morehead St. scoring list, Ranked 12th in the nation his junior year (22.5 ppg) shooting 45.1% (32.6% from 3pt) he sounds good. Its not a pick that will probably go down in the halls of greatness, but it doesnt sound bad either. If AP is leaving due to free agency (and with these two picks he just might) then they are probably two good picks.
I've heard great things about Martin, and he's a pretty good defensive player from what i gather, which is something that this ballclub needs BADLY...so Martin was a great Pickup, and i hope he can contribute to the Kings!! I Don't really know much about Minard, but if he can be of some help to us,than i'm all for it Overall i believe we did good.hopefully these picks will make the Kings a better team
im hoping they dont wind up like GW, sittin on a bench for 3 years. the Kings need some real performance off the bench and im fairly sure that Martin can bring that. Minard on the other hand... who knows? if anyone has seen him play, hopefully they will chime in here on what kind of player he is & how he might fit into this team.

it definetly gives them a chance to rest Christie and Bibby at the same time, putting Jackson and Martin on the floor for stretches. And if he keeps his head on his shoulders and can keep his 3pt avarages up there, im sure he will get plenty of playing time.

Dude was second in the nation in scoring. Adleman better give this kid a look and hopefully he will be able to fit into the rotation.
