<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Cleveland? Well ... it's a longshot. But the Cavaliers have the requisite big man to send (Zydrunas Ilgauskas, conveniently entering the final year of his deal at $14.625 million). Tony Battie ($5.5 million), DeSagana Diop ($2.6 million), Kedrick Brown ($2.332 million) and Ira Newble ($2.7 million) get you near the promised land, and of those four, only Newble has more than two years left on his contract. Clearly, up-and-comer Carlos Boozer (a ridiculous value at only $695,000 on his rookie deal) would have to change uniforms, along with a few future first-round picks. Perhaps Cleveland could get Luke Walton's services in exchange. The Lakers would do this deal with an eye to the future, shedding most of these guys after this season, extending Boozer and seeing if they could entice a free agent or two to come west. As far as the Erie Boys go, Shaq and LeBron wouldn't be a bad one-two punch in the East, with Jeff McInnis and Dajuan Wagner in the chorus.</div> That is from ESPN.. I say hell no.. Losing Z and Boozer for Shaq.. No way. Boozer and Z are just too good too lose. Whats your opinion on this?
I would do it. But in the long run we will have nothing because Shaq probably wouldn't sign an extension. We would lose Shaq and have no Boozer.
Shaq is a better player than Z, but not for him and Boozer. Both these players will be playing for a lot longer than Shaq, and even in the next season they will go better than Shaq.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Heppy Lotmore:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq is a better player than Z, but not for him and Boozer. It's a hard call really. I would absolutly love it if Shaq played here and we went ahead and probably make it to the confrence finals. Shaq is already proven to be the man. Z still has to prove himself.

...except detroit that just destroyed the lakers, you seem to forget no way in heck do i give away z and boozer for shaq no way lebron will be hitting his max nba comfort zone a few years from now, and where will shaq be? on the far downhill side of his career. and we'd be out boozer, z, battie, and kedrick no way shaq is not a free ticket to an nba championship, you dont give away your team for him

Shaq dominated Big ben by far.. just that the lakers played bad as a team.
agreed shaq ave. 26 points, just the rest of the lakers pretty muched sucked. But theres no way i would do this trade. ONE u would be loseing sum of ur best players. and TWO u know that Shaq porbley wouldnt resign, it would be a waste
Well any trade that happens will have to go through O'Neal. If a trade to Cleveland were to actually happen it would basically require that O'neal would (duh, willingly) promise he'd sign an extension.. That's the 'veto power' they always mention. As for the trade, I wouldnt mind losing Z for Shaq, but Boozer is a rising star.. This guy will be putting up close to 20/10 in a few years.. Tough to give that up.
Face it, where ever Shaq goes you will have to cough up a couple of your best players, he is worth it. An opportunitie to have an impact player like Shaq is a once in a life time opportunity. The Lakers didn't beat the Pistons because the lack of team players. Kobe=me 1st Gary=me 1st Medvedenko=me 1st LeBron is a team player, McInnis is a team player. Shaq would carry our Cavs to the Eastern Conference finals DO DOUBT.

And I think Z (if he plays strong) can take Shaq.. of course Shaq will do better but I don't see losing z, booz and some other players for him.
I love the Cavs as much as anyone else, but the only center even REMOTELY close to Shaq is Yao Ming.. And it's pretty obvious that he still needs to develop. Ilgauskas, Magloire, Dampier, and the rest of the centers in the league are not even on the same continent as those two Any team Shaq goes on becomes an automatic lock for the playoffs. You have no idea how impressive that is, because there are only a handful of players who can do that. hi inss
shaq has what only 2-3 good years left?if we can resign Z that would be sweet and we all know booz and lebron are the future and prolly luke.
i dont like this trade one bit. Booz and lebron areon upside of careers. The team chemistry is smoking there in cleveland. the postential this team has would be horribly rattled if Declining diesal was to be aded to their team. And how ould they possibly stand a chance getting out odf the east with Shaq. Pistons ouch.
Shaq has about 8-9 more years left I think, but as the years go on he won't be as dominant but he will stil be a great player.
