Pretty good article about what they like about Stepp. It sounds like they drafted him to be their third PG. He's from a school that's in the NCAA's every year & he's a good shooter. He's also the alltime steals leader at Gonzaga, which is quite an accomplishment considering that's where John Stockton played.

Here's the last 2 paragraphs of the article. I'm pretty optimistic from it.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Wolves will give a number of players a good look. McHale said that as the draft progressed he was in contact with a number of players who said they would attend the Wolves' summer league if they were not drafted. </div>

I hope one of those players is Darius Rice. I'm told he's pretty athletic & that he's got some skills so he's worth looking at.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">McHale said that, after maintaining contact with Latrell Sprewell, he "would be shocked" if Sprewell decided to opt out of his contract for the upcoming season.</div>

That's terrific news!!! It's just one less issue for McFlip to deal with!!! Now we can focus on getting THud, Hassell & Hoibs signed & to go after Mehmet Okur or Mark Blount. If we get all those things done, we'll be in great shape.

As an avid Gonzaga fan, I can vouch for the TWolves selection of him. Blake is probably one of the smartest players in the draft and he rarely makes mistakes. Despite lacking speed, he makes up for it with his decision making and passing ability. Not only that but he has unlimited range and can rain down 3s from just about anywhere past the half court line.

Stepp is <u>very</u> under-rated, second to last pick, I feel he could be an all-star in 6 to 8 years, a steal for the T-Wolves.

Sounds like a good deal. We're always open for someone capable of shooting, defense and steals. Maybe he'll be as useful as Hoiberg for us if he proves some real hustle off the bench.

That's great to hear. The one negative I heard about him, though, is that he doesn't have a quick release on his shot but that's ok. The article says they'll work him out as the third string PG initially. That sounds like a good place to start.

Well as most second round picks, he is a little rough around the edges at some aspects of his game. Nothing smooths rough edges better than good coaching though.
