<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Biggie_Little:</div><div class="quote_post">What are his numbers at Seton?</div> Andre Barrett was good for about 15-16ppg & 5 apg on average over his 4 years at Seton Hall. But he really raised his stock as a possible draft pick durng his senior year, when he averaged better than 17ppg. And took a Seton Hall team that wasnt rank that high during the pre-season, to the NCAA tournament. Barrett didnt get drafted because his size scares alot of GM. He is really small & wit the pg position gettin bigger & stronger every year GM's feel a pg that small is going to be a liablity more than an asset. Teams fr the most part are trying to shy away from the little pg's. The only small guys that got drafted were Telfair & Nelson(off the top of the head memory). Dre doesnt have the unkown upside of Telfair. And isnt the scorer or as strong as Nelson.Lionel Chalmers is a similiar player to Barrett, a small point guard who raised his stock during his senior year because of his play during the post season. But he didnt get drafted either. Anyway, It doesnt really shock me that Isiah is giving the New York kid a chance on the summer league team. He might show something in the summer league that he didnt show in college or at the pre-draft camps.
A few years ago, the Knicks also gave Shaheen Holloway (the guy Barrett replaced at Seton Hall) a shot...so it doesn't surprise me...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">A few years ago, the Knicks also gave Shaheen Holloway (the guy Barrett replaced at Seton Hall) a shot...so it doesn't surprise me...</div> Yeah its always been a good PR move to have cats from the tri-state area on the Knicks summer league teams even if they really dont have that much of a realistic shot at making the Knicks roster. I read an article last week in the Daily News about Kareem Reid. And in the article it that Isaih had been in contact with him about possibly joining the summer league team as well. I pretty much figured his time had passed him by, he figurd he was going to be stuck in Rucker Park & other backyard leagues for the rest of his playing days. I know he wont make the knicks active roster, but maybe, just maybe some other team might see him & find something interesting about him. And give him a legit shot. ButI doubt it. But anyway if the rumors are true about Dennis Rodman playing on the Knicks summer league team. At least they will be an interesting squad. And worth me checking out on NBA TV or Espn.
Andre's a good player and I'd like to see him get picked up. He's actually shorter than Telfair and Jameer, maybe even a hair shorter than TJ Ford..He's not lightning quick but he is a pure point gaurd. He'll need to get stronger, but he's solid and I think he could make it in the L. I hope to see him picked up.

In addition, last season, he was with the Hornets for training camp and preseason where he almost made the team (he was one of the last cuts) so I don't think its that far fetch he makes a team this year... I like Kareem Reid a lot and I think he will get his shot as a backup soon enough...
