Meet Kris Humphries utahjazz.com: Where you surprised it was Utah? Humphries: ?I was excited. You know, I had a great time when I came in there and workout; felt comfortable there. So it wasn?t a shock but I was really excited.? utahjazz.com: I guess the workout in you had last week went better a lot better than anyone realized? Humphries: ?You know, I just worked hard throughout the last year and, you know, throughout my basketball career, you know, it all came together for me this past week. So I?m really excited.? utahjazz.com: Your coach put the tag on you being a young Karl Malone, how much of a burden is that going to be coming here? Humphries: ?Being compared to someone like that is a special thing, you know, Karl Malone is a great player---NBA Hall of Famer---I hope to be like him one day but I?ve got a long ways to go. I?m excited to start my career and have a long career in Utah.? utahjazz.com: Was this something you expected that you were totally surprised by? Humphries: ?I was just so happy that that?s the only emotion I can give you, just joy and happiness. Going to a great team like that and being in the city of Utah in front of the great fans.? utahjazz.com: Do you think your workout had something to do with it? Humphries: ?I think so. I had a great workout when I was down there. I had great conversations with the staff there, management. Junior Malone <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He's already hearing comparisons to Karl Malone, so Kris Humphries might as well take comfort in one obvious similarity to the Mailman: Draft-night criticism. In the same way Malone was downgraded by most draft scouts in 1985 for having an iffy work ethic -- a miscalculation roughly on par with General Custer's -- Humphries heard his value questioned by ESPN's analysts Thursday for having a "me-first" attitude. </div> Rest of the Article http://www.sltrib.com/2004/Jun/06252004/sports/178797.asp
How do I ever pray that he is the second coming of Karl Malone. All a long I thought this was the guy the Jazz needed, I hope he doesn't prove me wrong. Now if the Jazz had a good center to play along side Kris, we could be back in the playoffs next year.
He has been compared to Karl Malone, and so far in hs short Jazz career he talks like him. Going to a great team like that, and being in the city of Utah, in front of great fans." Kris Humphries "I'm pleased to play in the city of Utah." Karl Malone after being drafted by Utah. I really like the Kris Humphries pick, he's physical and he can score and rebound. If he maintains focus during his rookie season, we could just have another Mailman. It's a big expectation, but he's in the right place to do it, because who else will Utah start at PF in the future? Jarron Collins . Jerry Sloan should get the best out of him and Snyder, and they could both see some minutes next season, especially Humphries.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting deception:</div><div class="quote_post">they do have an affinity for picking white guys in utah.</div> Does it matter what color the guy is as long as he's good? Any ways, I found another thing Kris and Karl have in common, they both spell their names with a K rather than the more traditional C spelling. Also, their both 6'9 and Karl and Kris was both considered more of a me-first type player in college. Do I ever hope Kris is a carbon copy of Karl.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting deception:</div><div class="quote_post">they do have an affinity for picking white guys in utah.</div> *coughs*Racism*coughs* Anyway, no one really knows how good anyone will be. Kris could be good right away, or he might take years to build up. Remember the last time someone was called the next Malone, Dallas drafted him and he turned up being a nobody. Hopefully, Kris can bring back that winning edge to the Jazz, I would like to see Utah and Chicago facing off again in this new era. Maybe a few more years of waiting, never know.
