I don't know why Nelly made this trade... If it's to sweeten the deal for Shaq then great, but if they plan on replacing Finley with Stackhouse, I think it's a really bad idea.

Finley is a much better player and isn't nearly as fragile as Stack. He's also a better 3 point shooter.. It would be a downgrade for sure unless one of you can convince me otherwise...

And how do u sweeten a deal for Shaq with a player like Stackhouse, who plays the same position as Kobe?

Stackhouse won't be replacing Finley you don't have to worry about that man, he was only brought in to sweeten the deal for Shaq and if not for Shaq someone else.

The Lakers would be happy if Kobe leaves them and they have Stack to replace him.

Kobe might be in jail or another team you know.

Does Stackhouse play small foward also. Cuz that would be good. Unless their using him to sweeten the deal for Shaq.

hey guys--im a wizard fan so i just came here to check out ur opinions on the trade. i honestly think the reason why stackhouse was thrown in the deal because thats the onl way the wiz would do the trade. i think mavs offered jamison for the 5th pick and wiz said sure--but take lattener n stack house(because of there contracts ones 5-6 million and stacks is 8 million i think) now i do think they did the tarde to TRY to sweeten the deal to the lakers..by using the 5th pick..but i guess it didnt work. thats just my opinion--because wizards was hopin that bobcats would take lattener or stackhouse off there hands. stack is a good player--but he gets hurt and crys..and lattener he has a good 15 footer but he never gets calls and not to physical and to much money.
well good luck on ur shaq trade--and to let you know..if cuban throws in dirk for shaq--he is an absolute idiot...dirk had 10-12 more great yrs in him...shaq is wearin down every year. hopefully you guys keep strong and and not give him up. good luck.

I kind of liked this trade, but then again, when you lose an All-Star caliber player in Antawn Jamison for Jerry Stackhouse, who certainly isn't a 'house', you'd expect me to be mad.

I'd rather have Shaun Livingston, but maybe Devin Harris will turn out OK.

I think the trade would include another team in a 3-team-way trade, with the other team receiving Stack and giving up its own main players. I see the Bulls or the Pacers as strong possibilities in this case. The Bulls want ready players and they can ship players that they no longer want to wait on, such as Tyson Chandler and Eddie Robinson. The Pacers obviously need some second scoring punch after seeing Jermaine O'Neal hobble in the playoffs and no other guys step up. For Stack, I think Al Harrington and Jeff Foster would be included in the deal, but certainly not Ron Artest who is still their key player.

Also, I just wanna tell you guys that getting Stackhouse wasn't to 'sweaten a deal for Shaq'. It is pretty impossible, if I have the NBA rules correct... Once you trade for a player, isn't it a rule that you can't trade him for another 2 monthes? If it is, getting Stackhouse was a way to not lose too much depth by losing Finley (think about it... If you would've lost Finley, you would've had to hope that Daniels and Howard stayed on the right track). Well, they could wait 2 monthes, but from what I'm hearing, Cuban seems to want to get something done quickly.

There are situations that I remember players had to wait 2 months, but that isn't the case all the time. If you remember Rasheed Wallace was traded by Atlanta after playing one game for them. I don't know what the exact rule is, but it doesn't always take effect.

Yeah, you're right about that. Can anyone explain to me when exactly does the '2 month till allowed to be traded' rule goes into affect?

It does not take into effect only when more than two teams are involved in the trade. When Wallace was traded, Boston was added to the trade, thus making Rasheed eligible to be traded.

This shouldn't even be a question, anyone that choses Stackhouse over Finley must not be feeling too well, definately Finley, especially with the type of game the team plays, Stack will be what Walker was, Stack needs the ball in his hands, and he can't hit open shots.

Yes, he can play the 3 also in accordance to playing the 2.

From what I've been hearing, yes, Jerry Stackhouse might actually be involved in a 3 way deal that reportedly involved Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Dirk Nowitzki and Shaquille O'Neal. Like Trip said, they need a third team to be involved in order to do a deal with Jerry Stackhouse included. I just hope they stay away from Shaq... Dirk isn't worth trading!
