I have no sources saying this...but i just have a feeling that it could happened. lets see....jamison,arenas,and hughes are all former teammates. dampier was 4th in rebounding last year. he would add the defense that the wizards need badly. he wont be AS nearly as much as kenyon martin would be but still adds strong D and very very good rebounding.

any one think the wizards could sign Eric Dampier(he has declared that he is becomin a free agent)

He actually would be a very good fit here, although I haven't heard any rumors it might happen. Haywood doesn't have the work ethic to ever become a good player so we might as well dump him. That would be funny having four ex-Warriors in the starting lineup, and even funnier if we made the playoffs.

I don't think it will happen. There are generally three factors that go through a free agent's mind when he's looking for a new place to play. There's the money. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Washington can only offer him a cap exception. Then there's the location. Players will like playing in places with warm weather or in places near their hometown. I'm pretty sure Dampier is from Mississippi, and Washington D.C.'s weather isn't as inviting as the weather in places like Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, and Oakland. Lastly, winning is a factor. As we saw this year with the Lakers, players will take massive pay-cuts just to win. The Washington Wizards aren't exactly winners right now, and it may be a decade before they are again. I think Dampier will either resign, go to Atlanta, or go to Memphis.

Dampier would be nice, but he's too much money for us. We need to watch how much we're spending, Hughes' & Kwame's contracts need to be renewed after this season.

I'm not exactly sure how old Damp is...but to me he just seems like a more experienced Etan. Why not grow our own trees?

True, these kids just need to grow & I see alot of promise in our players. I'm tired of watching ex-wizards go off & do great things for other teams while we get stuck with their trash. We need to just hang onto what we have.

I would love to see it happen, but I seriously doubt it, I think he will be a Memphis Grizzly next year, he wants a big contract, and I dont know if Washington would put that out.

I wouldn't mind anyone like say him or Camby. Both are pretty good C's on the offensive end, always a big help on your team since you're lacking in so many areas. As for what you'd have to give up to get him, then forget it.
